If it doesn't fit, make it fit!

Kinda like, if you can't sing well, sing LOUD!

That's exactly what I did! So after a little massaging and dremeling here and there:
- front shock tower has been cut
- rear a-arms have been slightly filed to clear the telescoping driveshafts
- diff was totally rebuilt as it was stuck with 20 year old dried out grease
- Trinity gears were also fitted with a few added shims
- Yokomo wheel adapters were, well..., adapted lol
here is the provisional result and note that everything is still at mock-up stage. I need to find back the nice motor guard I have and the front bumper. Shocks will be replaced with nicer ones too. In the meantime I also received the JPS decal sheet wooooooooot, stay tuned!

Looks fantastic!!! Are you going to add a motor guard? Nice job making all the parts work together too.

Stunning! I would not put a body on there as you will hide that cool chassis and cage.
I feel your pain with after market parts not fitting correctly. That is one reason I reverted to original wheels, bearings and shafts to get it perfect.

Nice looking car! What does telescoping mean when it comes to a diff? I have seen one like that on the Ultima Outlaw truck. Is it thick for better support and strength?

The only thing the mkI body will cover is the topdeck, the cage sits on the body

Finally sourced a motor mount and a front bumper at an affordable price, it's amazing the prices asked by some evilBay sellers for these two items.
The body was trimmed as well in the meantime, but made some mistake and trimmed it too much on the sides. I'll probably order another body.
Next step is to fit the electronics and I have saved a nice Futaba bundle for this one, namely a MC116 ESC and a period correct receiver.
More progress in a year or so

Certainly good looking!
If You can pry that JPS body out of RC10Eh´s hands, I´d say the overall impression would be 10 out of 10
