Off leaf topic, and with Hockey season around the corner, it is with great pleasure to announce Daniel Alfredsson's departure from Canada A future Hall of famer, and fantastic performer, but never did like his golden locks. He will now go to Detroit. 17 seasons with the Sen's, was 17 to long! As a leaf fan we are programed to dislike Ottawa, and any threat that that team can bring. No offence, but see ya

Nah, not really. What has Washington ever done? Oh right, Cups won = 0. Next season, they'll be working on their 40th year of futility with no Championship. Has Ovie ever won a Cup? Aren't Washington perennial playoff underachievers?

My province alone has brought home the hardware 6 times since 1972--and if I count correctly, Alberta teams played in the Cup finals 4 times in addition to that, in which they lost--more than any other province or American city during that period of time.

10 Championship runs in 40-ish years producing 6 Cups. (Of course, I'm being kind to Calgary, who only won one of those Cups.)

Well from a leaf point of view 40 years without a cup is not all that bad. Alex (3 time MVP) will never get a cup with the Caps!!

I go from being ignored to a full on hate fest Ovechkin is a one trick pony and you are correct about him never getting a cup with the caps...We Caps fans just don't understand how they always fall apart in the playoffs They need a good solid leader...We are hoping that Oates will finally lead them to the promise land...

Not ignored, don't think that, at least by me Lots of OT, and an old buddy stopped by last night, BQ with many beer's I'm sure Alex will go where the $$$ is at.....KHL might be an option down the road for him.
IMO LA will win the cup this season.
