I would be all over this if they released it again. But let's say they do and it's a RTR, would you still buy one?

It would suck, but I would still buy one, don't think it'll ever be a team factory kit though. I just don't see them making white parts. There are over 3000 members here, lets add 2000 more buyers out side this site, assuming all of use would buy one. Limited production for sure.

I think there would be more people wanting an rc10 than a hotshot, but tamiya made it happen. Just my opinion. The difference is that tamiya is set up for that type of thing, where associated has changed hands and in the process I'm sure things get lost, scrapped etc. not to mention some of the molds were getting pretty used up- look at all the flashing on some parts bitd. It was getting pretty bad. I don't see then doing a 6-6 white car either. I'm sure it will be black which also kills it for me.

If a re-release came out, I would buy it if it's less than $500. I would probably build it and use it as a light runner.
One thing to keep in mind if the Rc10 is re-released is that the re-release would most likely end up being rarer than the original.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

If a re-re came out before the B5....then the AE team should be required to run them at the worlds!

Arguments about lost molds was brought up with the SRB re-re. While I doubt it will happen, you can never say never.

I'd like to see pretty much *any* RC10 re-release because it would also mean that for a short time, all the parts would be available again.

Let's just say for arguments sake that they released a fairly original Edinger-esque kit at a price of $399 including bearings, something like a 17T brushed motor, cheapo ESC and a cheap servo. Just add radio, receiver, battery after building it and you are ready to go.

For arguments sake, we will assume that the shocks and other parts will be mildly updated where necessary (say like the front shock towers, and the steering) but it would have white parts, short front arms, and a 6 gear tranny.

But, the tub would be pre-drilled for a stealth which is now widely available again along with the wide arm fronts, plus upgraded (bigger) wheels and tires (say something like either the TQ wheels / tires or some kind of factory upgrade kit so you can run modern stuff like a B4 conversion kit).

For me, I'd be all over it like a kid on a smartie

It would be really cool to get new chassis' and tires maybe for jelly beans. Everything else is still fairly available in good condition.

What would be really cool would be a b5 that used a pro tech body. Gold anodized parts and 2.2" jelly bean wheels 8)

I know an engineer at AE who worked on various projects.

I inquired about a ReRe of the RC10 GP or graphite version. He mentioned that an idea had been kicked around, but it was down the list a ways of future products and projects.

I'll ask if he knows anything new about the ad and or if they have re-thought a ReRe.

I bet that's not actually true. Tamiya was the McDonald's of RC cars. WAY more Hotshots were sold than RC10's, I'd be willing to bet. There are probably more people HERE that would rather have an RC10, but probably 10 times as many over on the Tamiya forum that would rather have a Hotshot. Maybe they'd even rather have a second or third Tamiya re-re before an RC10.

I'd probably take that bet but from what I understand associated "doesn't keep track of the numbers". Now, if you said VS a hornet, grasshopper, etc i would agree! Just my thoughts tho 8)

If you compared only the years of RC10's that were sold during the same years the Hotshots were selling, not ALL the years of the RC10, do you really think more RC10's were sold? Heck, I'd almost be willing to bet more Optimas were sold in that few-year span than RC10's, and way more Hotshots sold than Optimas.

Of course, I have no numbers to back that up, it's just what I remember of the popularity of those cars at the hobby stores. The store I worked at didn't even sell Associated products. The only place you saw them was at the track, which was a very small percentage of overall RC cars sold in those days.

Yup. Maybe it's my region but I didn't see many hotshots back then and I don't see any on craigslist now (survivors). I saw tons of rc10s and still do weekly on craigslist and all over eBay. I doubt the hotshot owners are hoarding them, I guess it's possible they went In a bin, but you'd think they would have surfaced by now in droves like the rc10s do if there were that many.

Again, just my opinion- I'd love to hear actual numbers but they don't exist.
