Hate- Traxxas bashing. They're here to stay and make some of the funnest vehicles around. R/C owes it's roots to people wanting to have fun... I'm not really sure why the hate continues. Have those that hate Traxxas even driven one of their vehicles??

P.S. I'm not exactly a Traxxas Fanboy, but I just don't understand HATE and they seem to receive more of it than anyone.
traxxas has some fun stuff but try reversing a servo on a tq remote .. then you will understand hate. something that should take 1/2 a second is a pain..

But that's not why people hate on Traxxas.
I think most "Traxxas haters" are upset at how Traxxas is crowding out other manufacturers from the LHS shelves.

Hear, hear! What's wrong with a switch?

My dislike for Traxxas is largely to do with their marketing, not engineering. The Rustler/Stampede/Bandit/Slash platform is brilliant: simple, strong, reliable, versatile, and tons of fun. And back when they were available as kits, I picked up a couple of them. So, Traxxas, why can't I buy a Slash, in kit form, without the overly-complicated, ergonomically horrible radio, and with a clear body instead of some garish vomit of stripes or a "licensed reproduction" of some existing car? Sell me the chassis, in kit form, with no electronics at all (I don't need your "fully waterproof" ESC or fragile servo either), with a clear body, for around $120, and you might have my business again. This applies to the more expensive and complicated models too; building an E-Maxx or a Summit from a kit would be an interesting build, I bet. So why is it that only factory workers in Taiwan get to experience that?

Because Traxxas' target market wants instant gratification.

I am almost sure that they do not even get to experience that, some kind of assembly line is used I am sure. I would like to build one for sure.

please try reversing the steering and throttle on a traxxas 2.4 radio (without a docking base/iphone/ipod) and then get back to me. i dont mean read how to do it then say oh thats not a big deal i mean really do it . you can read how to do it but when you try to do this its so stupid its insane. (just a reminder that almost any other remote this would take less then 1 second to do ) i really like traxxas rcs im even a big fan of the Ed "Too Tall" Jones sc truck they make (2wd slash) , but to make me buy the car with such a bad remote is just something i cant stand. not trying to be a jerk to anyone here but traxxas 8)

I can understand frustration with something that specific. I've never even used a Traxxas radio of any kind so I couldn't say, but it sounds like a PITA. I only own one Traxxas. The Slash that I race. I put my M8 in it right when I bought it though. Glad to know about that radio so I can avoid it if I ever get the chance.

I have never used one of their newer radios, but I can understand the frustration if it is that bad. I have always thought that their radio designs were terrible, but for me that's not enough to condemn a whole company. Most rtr radios are crap anyway, that's not just a Traxxas thing.

the real sad part is the non 2.4 radio was perfect for a rtr. if they just took that radio and made it a 2.4 and 4 cell id use that radio in alot of my cars
