that's what i thought, if it's loose stay with rear, but i keep reading arguments that go the other way.
i race on a very loose surface, most of the time.

For Mid motor, you cut a chunk out of the side for the gear cover...no swapping back and forth

BUT...the J Concepts Finnisher for RB6 will work with some creative trimming in the rear, I have done a chassis test, it hugs it rather well.

rear motor it is then. i just don't feel like taking a chance. it's a new buggy to start with, i don't need to be messing with the layout....i think. lol

maybe when i get another body i'll play around a bit.

When I get a chance, I will be picking up the JC body I mentioned. I have one on my slim B4 and can tolerate the look of that cab forward body. The stock body is not bad looking either, I just didnt take my time and rushed a single color job (black at that), not my style.

I will be attempting to race this car come saturday, still deciding if I am going to leave the 10.5 in there and run mod, or take the 17.5 out of my RC10 and run stock...leaning toward mod

it really depends on how loose it is... but yes, if it's loose and you have to do brake, rotate, accelerate, then rear rules...

in mid to hi grip, with more sweepers (either tight or wide) and less 180's, then mid becomes interesting

it really depends on the track layout/grip...

Paul, FYI, the XFactory guys are saying just the opposite. Mid motor shines in rough loose...BUT, the world seems to disagree

I've had about a year to play around and learn mid motor. It is my opinion that it is always superior regardless of track type. There are some things to learn though since rear motor tuning and setups get thrown out the door. I disagree with X Factory about certain things though namely the 4 gear setup. It isn't the breakthrough that they think it is since it creates other problems.

that was one of the strongest opinions that got me thinking. but the reality is after all these years the b4 and the rest of the rear motor world keep winning.

i started the build last night, i'm pretty happy with it so far. there seems to be a high spot or something in the gear box. i'll have to tear it down and inspect the gears.
it may just work itself out but i'm going to have a look anyway.

i think i'm going to race it, or atleast try to friday night. my friend who races for venom/tresrey/atomik invited me to hit a newer indoor track that i haven't been to yet.

i'll probably run the 10.5, i think 7.5 is a bit much for a tight indoor track.

i finished the car up last night.

i had a few issues with mismanufactured parts, cvd's binding and a buggered shock body. after some carefull polishing it's ready to go.
the gear cover is odd, to tightly shaped around the pinion area, a large pinion will bind on the cover. no cover for me tonight, as 17.5's use a big pinion.
it feels great running around my basement. heading to the track tonight for some 17.5 class racing, i figure i'll take it easy on it the first night.

we can share set ups as well, until we get these dialed in for how we drive.

what camber are you running joey?
kit set up is whack if you built the tierods to the kit spec, had all kinds of positive camber. i set it to -1 degree all around to start.
losi oil 30wt front, 25wt rear 4 hole pistons all around.

im a -2 guy personally, every car I own goes there
