So here it is!

I know I missed a few details and the colors may not be 100% correct but I'm happy with the way it turned out for my 1st RC body paint job.

I was able to salvage and reuse some the original decals and There are a few more decals I need to find.

Thanks all! I finished the parts truck too. Been enjoying bashing it around the neighborhood. People actual come out of their houses to watch a grown man play with an RC car. I'll post up some pics when I get back from vacation.

Those pictures remind me of the first RC10T I remember seeing. The hobby shop owner had one on display looked just like that. Love it, great job.

It was my first, thanks for the compliment! To be fair it looks better from a distance. Unfortunately the time that it took me to cut the masks and line everything up would pretty must exclude me from ever making it cost effective to paint another person's body. I have new Team truck project underway that will give me a 2nd shot at a box art repro. Will post up pics of attempt number with in a few weeks.

Great job! I can relate to that comment. I paint them for fun for people, but never for money. It takes me forever, but I find it very relaxing. Also I don't charge them because I tell them going in "I'll do it, but unfortunately I can't guarantee anything other than I will try my best. I'm not immune to the occasional blunder... like putting decals on top of the protective film.".

Do you know if this mix also work without the utrasonic process? I mean, maybe puting the parts in a closed can with the solution for a few days and moving/revolving them from time to time? Maybe adding some silica sand as an abrasive?

About your restoration, great job on the RC10T, it looks sweet!!!

It does work as a soaking solution too, actually it was originally intended as a soaking solution and bore cleaning solution for removing carbon build up from firearm parts. The benefit the sonic cleaner adds is that the grime/dirt float away from the inside and out of the parts. Soaking may require some light scrubbing or wiping but the results wouldn't be much different.

As far as adding silica, I've never tried it but, the sand won't stay in suspension and would just compact. I also think it would be far to abrasive. The intent of the solution is to remove the dirt and grime and nothing else, no material removal. But don't let me stop you from experimenting with it
