The wheels currently on the car are the 'Minilite' style wheels - they are called Smoor 'Roadsters' They have a row of bolts around the lip to give the split rim look - although they are only one peice.

The 'cross' spoke wheels are less en-vogue I suppose, they are a British wheel made by KN & in some ways sort of more period correct for the age of the car - I liked them

Would love some BBS one day but they cost alot of ££s

I love the deep-dish euro look Dan, very nice. Some great shots of yours and the other cars too.

Were they their own platform? They look like a 3-door jetta, but also like a mk1 golf with a boot, I'm confused!!!

PS. A set of BBS splitties would look lovely on there, but yes, you would need a small loan to secure a set...what the phrase...'scene tax' I believe!

I got my RC's from a guy in Holland, they dont make the size that I wanted anymore, but I was lucky enough to find a BNIB set! Took me over a year to put some rubber on them though!

Love the RCs on your Corrado - they're a nice, more modern interpretation of the classic cross-spoke design. I think for a while BBS went out of business - so might be why your size became discontinued? I notice that there's been a few new designs added to the range.... but they somehow look cheap

The Derby is what the Jetta was to the Golf... its the saloon version of the MK1 Polo.... when they brought out the MK2 shape they dropped the 'Derby' name for the saloon - which became the Polo 'Classic' - although early MK2s in Europe were still called Derby's

Mine is a '1F' F-for Facelift.... for the short period between 1977-78 the pre-facelift Derbys had chrome bumpers, different dash & the same grille & round lights from the hatchback Polo (the red car behind mine in the group shot is an early car) Mine being an early 79 is one of the first 'plastic' bumpered cars.

This is my mate's Pre-facelift car.... its is absolutely flawless with some neat & rare touches.. it won 'Best Polo' at Edition38 back in 2009

Great example there Dan - I haven't been to a show for a long time, used to go all the time - when I didnt have a mortgage and family to feed! Hehehee

The first set wheels I bought were some RH ZW1 2-piece split rims. These are nearly 10 years old now, I cant bare to part with them, but also cannot afford to get them refurbed, which they badly need. For now they are stored in my garage waiting for the day I get round to refurbing them...

They look great, but weigh an awful lot so dont make for a great ride - unlike my BBS RC's which are a very light wheel and ride/handle sooo nice!!

Someday I hope to get my little Notch looking like this: Picture taken at a VW jamboree in Costa Mesa sometime in the late eighties (check out the attire of the people in the background) .

notches are hot. always liked them, just not thier laydown motors.

Looks lovely, you can also see from this car where the Corrado styling came from. I think VW was wrong to use the Scirocco name again with their new car - that thing is not a coupe, its a 2 door hatch, nice to drive though.
