Next up are the rear hubs, shocks and radio install.

I have a new prototype Cougar 1 shell from Penguin Rc bodies on eBay, I'll post some pics up when I get some paint on it.

Now what scheme to choose???? Any ideas welcome!

I have made some good progress over the past few weeks.

Managed to score a PK tuning front tower and Cougar 2 front and rear towers from Ebay so these will be going on the next car.

I have re done the Cougar 1 shocks, these were in a bit of a state but put them in the pilar drill and wet and dry and polished them up, they came up ok, fresh oil and seals and a good clean and these were bolted on.

Novak Rx fitted and my ebay Reedy Sonic motor too.

So here she is:

The wheels came with my ebay car, loving the retro pink!

Next up is to paint the shell, this came from Penguin rc shells from ebay uk. This is the Cougar 1 shell but I will get a Cougar 2 one for the next car. Steve has loads of great shells. Go check ebay Uk out for more info.

Also going for a period speedo too, Novak 610, its working fine and just trying to re-wire it and fit.

Im going to see of these cells charge up but would love to find some working 1700 SCRC's but that maybe a bit tricky! lol

Just a quick question, I'm missing the wing mounts buttons but as you can see have the mounts for the tower.

These are not listed on Schumacher website. Anything else I can try?

Wow this is looking great! You've done a great job on this, you must be really proud! I Love those Schumacher rear tyres with the rigid sidewall (A design inspired I guess by the similar Losi tyres?) - they were pretty rare when they were new, let alone now! I remember I tried a pair, but they were not as good as Schumacher's regular Minispike tyres, so I guess thats why they didn't make too many?

Looking at your photos brings back so many memories of the TopCat/Cougar that I raced BITD - I learn't such a lot with that car, when I first built it (as a TopCat) I made so many errors (the diff didn't work properly & i'd missed out the spacers on the front shocks so the spring seats rubbed on the steering) & I was so disapointed with how it drove. By the time i'd finished with it, it had been converted to a Cougar, i'd learn't how to set it up & maintain it properly, it went really well, & i'd got alot better as a driver... so much so that I won my first ever trophy with it... & at my first ever outdoor meeting - 2nd in the 2wd A Final :D

Mmm... I'm not 100% sure but the original wing buttons were replaced with ones with a screw through the middle around the time of the Bosscat/CougarII.... I think these parts are still used for the current Schumacher 1/10th buggies. Not sure how these will fit into the corresponding early style wing mount but might be worth a try?

Thanks Dan, yes Im really happy with the way its turned out.

I'll post up som pics but its a runner now! Put in my Novak retro gear in it and a Reedy Sonic motor and it moves!

As for the wing mounts I will try and get hold of the Cat SX crash back wing mounts and see if these fit but I think the buttons are a bit bigger so we shall see.

Very nice feline! Will you run it or is it just for display?

Thanks Paul!

Not sure to be honest, it does run but I'm yet to drive it.

I took it to my local club on Wednesday to let the lads have a look at a proper car.

Uk national A finalist Nathan Ralls wants to race it at a Club meeting, be great to see what he can do with the old girl!

I will probably build up another one as a runner with a mild brushless, lipo etc with B4 shocks

That looks great! Nice job. 8) On paint, it might be nice to try and tie the pink rims and red shock tower together. Pink, red, and some nice white dividing lines would look great.
