JK, the diff was rebuilt maybe a month before you took the car off my hands, with new rings and diff balls. There was nothing wrong with the old internals, just wanted a fresh diff to run. Sent you a PM too.

By the way: I just found that losi diff rings for the XXCR are the same as the tcp ones.

Nice job man, looks good... Traxxas was my first "nice" car. but back then nothing was like an RC10 (quality).

TRX front bumper didnt last the first jump I cased, snapped right off. I had the wrong front tires (I was still using the ones you sent with it Dr B!!) so I had the hook/push syndrome. And, I dont do Mod very well. So I ended up 4th out of 7. Factory Losi guy in first, Factory Tamiya guy in second, another Tamiya car, then me...right behind me (literally .1 behind) was Rusty-Racing with his brushless Worlds chassis/RPM Worlds front end car.

In stock, the RC10 was fantastic. Took with win with a 27T & Novak T1

Did the slipper hold up well? When I as looking at buying the pads and spur in the shop, the big hole in the pads scared me off. I didn't have the car with me but it looked like the pressure plates would only cover a very small part of the pads?
A couple days later I found all (at least I hope) the parts to put traxxas newer torque control system; at half price.
I'll try the original first: seen that's the only version I have multiple spare spurs for at the moment. And since the car will run on carpet with high jumps the main function will not be torque control ; just gear protection

As for the tires; staggered ribs are all over the place I plan to visit. Seems like the best front tire for most tracks? Funnily those are 2.1" so I don't know if they'd fit the rulux wheels as intended.

about the bumper: old , dried up nylon parts are brittle. Coocking them a bit brings the moist back in them.
And the bumper is still available, be it in black. Or, if you have some kydex... easy enogh to make your own

I did a quick kydex hack together at the track (for the bumper, I will just pick up a Rustler one). The slipper seems fine, even with one a small portion actually touching the plates. I pulled the motor apart last night, it sure did seem fast for a 19T, I was keeping up with the sponsored drivers, they were using 8.5 brushless. It had a 13X2 arm in there. No wonder , I thought 18/87 was off for a 19T, but the car accellerated very well and plenty of top end. I am going to look at the STRC slash top shaft, it allows you to use the AE slipper plates. Since my other buggies also use dual slipper set ups, might as well go for it and convert this one correctly.

Stagger ribs may not be the hot ticket on our outdoor track. I didnt get my tire shipment in from eVilBay, so I used what I had. Either a set of M2 Proline B4 rtr front tires or the Prolines I got when I bought the car from Dr B. I cant remember the name of them, but they are the ones Kenooze used in his Kinwald replica build up. 4 rib tire with the little bars connecting the outer ribs and inner ribs. They are a narrow tire (compared to modern tires) so when they were stretched onto the Rulux, they dont look right.

I have 2 STR-15 top axles at home. I'm sure that with just the smallest modification I can use Losi slipper plates on them. What they need is a litttle shortening, maybe an extra pinhole and a little tueing of the diameter for the plates to slip over. OOps that's 3 modification of which I can only do one myself
MAybe someone will pick up the idea: for me it's not much use since I would have to buy the plates, pads and spurs... bit much when I already have é solutions ready and untried yet.

I've seen the SRT truck with the current style Traxxas slipper set up, direct fit, no modification necessary. But my other cars use the AE slipper set ups, so I just want to keep one set of parts type in the box (not to mention, my son runs a T4 & B4...even another reason).

I have the car completely torn down right now. I am going to attempt to have a new chassis/top plate/shock towers make in CF, and keep the stock stuff as a back up. I still need to pick up the front bumper, and plan on a couple diff gears and idlers (when I find the idler) as well as a couple steering knuckle/carriers and rear arm mounts. Nothing else looks like it would break that easily on the car.

If my CF journey doesnt end well (meaning too much $$), I will reassemble and have at it as is. I plan on leaving the HPI shocks on there, they feel really good (and are quite inexpensive!).

if you're going to keep running that rc10 body you might modify the shape of the CF lower chassis to keep the dirt out a little better. Someone here made bellypans for the gold tub too.
