The motor plates look realy nice and well made Luke but they just don't look
old skool.I'll still have a set for my XLS runner though.

Re: new Procat sideplates?
Mine arrived this morning. I agree that they don't look old school but I think they really bring the vintage look up to date and wont look out of place on a car built with new bits - the quality is very nice indeed. I might even polish one set up to achieve that chrome-like finish (as with my current XLS).Moggie XL wrote:The motor plates look realy nice and well made Luke but they just don't look

Now on eBay
I was lucky enough to get a one off set in red!

There's a clear anodised set on eBay...

Update re. screw head
I just found out that a 0.050" driver is better for those screws even though it said 1.3mm on the suppliers' website.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hudy-Hex-Driver-0-050-/120593558881?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item1c13efad61
The 1.3mm is OK but I've found it can strip the hex in the screw if tightened too much. Hope this helps.
Working on some new modifications e.g. plastic belt cover washers and underchassis weights. Don't touch that dial...

Hi Jason, that's always the way isn't it
I dealt with a great company called Glenmore Engineering who can laser cut, grain and anodise the plates but it would only be economical to order a batch of 20 pairs. I also sent the drawings to Radshape but they didn't produce any yet. Maybe someone could start this up again? I'm happy to give advice but just don't have the time to spend on this
Thanks for the wheels btw

Re: new Procat sideplates?
Jason, I was a bit greedy and bought two pairs for my rebuild, but it's going a lot slower than I anticipated (funds being the main problem!).
If you're desperate, I can probably let a pair go? I don't ever remember breaking a set of sideplates b.i.t.d. so having two is probably a bit excessive, even for me!
Let me know if you're interested buddy.

Re: new Procat sideplates?
I've had a sheet of titanium sitting around for about 20 years just waiting to be made into Procat sideplates!
(Wonder how many jewellers saw blades it's going to take to cut 'em out).
