the shock bodies and caps were glass beaded then sanded by hand. might have stripped them with greased lightning......... i really don't remember.

the collars are hot trick i believe. i got them from another member a year or so ago.

HI!... Well I might have to try some CITRISTRIP on the shock bodies then. I know it strips off several layers of skin off my hands easily!

HI!... Just use RIT fabric dye. You can find it at any fabric or craft store. Just boil some water in a stainless steel pot. Turn the heat down to low simmer. At RIT dye powder. Stir around. Add parts. I usually leave the parts in for a hour to make sure the colour seeps in.

i glass beaded just the bottom of the tub and nose plate to remove the ano quickly. then hit them with 80 grit on a da sander to feather out the scratches. stepped that down to 150, then 320, then 400. after that, i used a somewhat worn out red scotch brite pad to give it a uniform finish. jeff said i didn't have to worry about stripping everything, the place that did the ano would take care of it. so i only stripped the areas that needed to be fixed.

still have quite a bit to do, but i threw some of it together. i need to peroxide a spur, get new ball cups for the sway bar, piece together an edinger steering bellcrank, make a rear swaybar, get new hardware for the front wheels, and ultimately get a body and wing painted.

i'm really not a fan of black parts on a gold tub, but with how light the gold is on these parts, it doesn't bug me near as much as it does on the darker orange/gold stuff.
