We get things anodized on a weekly basis at work. if you want I can ask our planner if they use orange and how much it would cost? I know that they can do black.
Yes please, but can he save the original coating inside the shock? In other words... I would only want the outside of the shock body done!

Probably, but I will have to ask. We get big manifolds anodized and they "tape" off the ground area so it's bare.

Tamiya Clod Buster

Sounds like they can just tape it off! You know, if a little gets in, it's not that big a deal!

"I always use Velcro to mount my Futaba 2.4 RX. I can swap from car to car in just a second or two. The Velcro acts as a shock absorber as well!"

I just picked up a 2.4Ghz radio and a second receiver (same as the one you are using) but I am thinking about returning the extra receiver. I had thought about using velcro but I am worried that one big hit or band landing will send it flying. I will swapping between my SC10 and RC10T.

I like the idea of being able to swap the receiver and also saving some money in the process. What has your experience been with using velcro? Any lost or damaged receivers?

Which brand do you use and where can I pick it up?

I have never had a problem with velcro ever coming off. I have had servo tape that works worse!

The velcro I use is from hobbico (tower hobbies), any good hobbyshop should have it!

Thanks, It's not that clean but it looks good from afar! To do it is not that hard, the letters are raised or recessed, just paint it with a fine tip brush. I just wish my hands were as steady as they were when I was younger!

Harley? Hmmm! Sounds like a neat idea!

Got the shocks built this morning before going trail rigging. Here are some of my shock tips:

HOW TO POLISH YOUR CRUSTY OLD SHAFT

The original shafts are all crusty and pitted.

I don't have the coin now to buy new ones! So you put the shaft in the Dremel chuck and use a strip of 600 grit (or finer) sand paper and polish it!
DSC08553.jpg
After you polish one end of the shaft, flip it and do the other. See how the threaded end (in chuck) is shiny and the piston end is dull! I finish off with a cotton rag to realy get it smooth

USE GREEN SLIME SO YOUR POLISHED SHAFT GOES IN SMOOTH
DSC08551.jpg
FILL BODY WITH FLUID WHILE YOUR FINGER PLUGS THE BOTTOM!

INSERT SHAFT SLOWLY WHILE REMOVING FINGER FROM BOTTOM

NO AIR BUBBLES :P

Looking real nice, What are you using to color in the lettering on those parts?

Yes! Try it out, been doing it for years, no waiting for air bubbles to get to the top that have been trapped under the piston!
