Hey Ruffy,

Thanks for the quick reply. The reason I want to do the ad version is because that is what I remember most from looking at magazines when I was a kid and still looking at them today. That car always caught my attention in that particular ad and wished I could have same one.

I agree Mike, The car in that ad looks pretty cool and I can understand 100% the draw to it especially when it is a car you admired when you were younger. Good luck with your build as they are a lot of fun.

I have the front wheels/tires, rear tires, JG bumper and the #4 decals, but It's going to take some time as I want to find a new built or partial built to do the build since it will cost less. My NIB will be done box art and shelfed and the complete used 6016 I have will be a runner.

Ruffy this is another very nice car you have built. You are on fire with building. Can't wait to see the final results on all of your cars. Excellent work.

Notice the diamond wing buttons on all the cars, representative of that era.

DerbyDan, Looks like my wife has found something for the replicas from IKEA:
KLINGSBO Glass-door cabinet
Glass case with door lock.
I'm gonna add a light fixture at the top, maybe have some mirrors cut for the back wall.
The top three tiers are taken by the Three Amigos already!

Ruffy, that #4 car looks awesome. What wing do you think is on that car, it looks like the side dams are glued to the wing. Also, where can I get all the decals for the car especially the JG one (I have the autographics #4'). If you made up or had all the decals made for your build I will gladly pay you for a couple sets.

The wing I am using on the #4 car image above is the Kimbrough wing, as it looks kind-of like the wing used in that ad with the trophy.
For stickers, I used pretty much my old box of decals I have had for over 25 years but purchased the ones I needed and didn't have from mikedealer. You will have to see him as he does great work and has been great to work with!
Thank-you for the great comments regarding the Halsey Replica, I'm sure your's will be great as well. I still have a few easy things to finish mine and will post more pics soon.

Jay wrote me a few emails these last two weeks and has been monitoring my build thread and had nothing but great comments.
Here is one of them regarding my build:

Hey Ruffy,
Your build brought back alot of memories.

Another rear tire that was a copy of the Holiday rear tire that we ran was made by Bolink.

Thank You,

Pretty cool and he loves these forums. I will be honest and I was unaware of this Bolink tire copy of the Holiday Buggy Tire that they used. Perhaps this is the tire that had no writing on the sidewalls since the AJ's tire had almost no good traction.

I believe Parma made a copy with no writing also. It was harder than the Holiday Buggy tire, but worked ok.

Nice Info there Jeff! I wasn't aware of that tire either.
Hopefully someone might have a picture or image of this Bolink and Parma tire one day that they can scan and post.
Good stuff!

I will definitely get a hold of mikedealer since I don't know if I will ever find those decals on ebay. As for the wing I think I will make one to get close to the wing in the pic. This car is going to take a while since I am still looking for a new built or partially new built.

Thank-you to Incredible_Serious for selling me this sticker for my replica of Jay Halsey's 1st IFMAR Off-Road World Championships RC10 Buggy that goes on the front bumper, which was donated to me by m_vice. Thank-you m_vice and everyone that has helped in one way or another to help me replicate the various replicas I have shown, and those currently in different stages of completion.
This sticker is one more piece to the puzzle for what I percieve as a good replica of his car from pictures and research done by others and myself.
Last thing on the list to complete this project will be the chassis/noseplate mods and then put the electronics I have for it in place. Luckily I was able to purchase another Futaba Magnum Sr. 3 Ch. radio and receiver for this replica, from craigslist.

Thank-you all that have helped in one way or another. Little by little she will be complete.

I'm sure you found the JG decal by now. However, I have several JG vintage pieces that came in a lot and have that older decal if people are still hunting for one. This is just one example, and I may have blue in some of the other bags.
