Yep. Everything is OEM, except for the motor, which is INOP. I even have the original box, owners manual, a box of unused parts, that the kit came with and the OEM tools. I hooked up a battery to it. All electronics work, servos, everything, but no motor. Hooked up an ohm meter to the motor plug, it is getting power, just the motor does not work. But with a good recommendation on a motor, and hopefully find tires, I think this car is good to run. I would also like to find an unpainted body and do a really nice paint job. Now, talking with everyone here and from what I learned, I better go easy on it, and not risk breaking anything. Just keep it old school vintage....

The reason I even brought this thing out of the garage, is that my buddies got some new Traxxas Slash 4X4's. I had this weird idea that since the original RC10 box said 2 time World Champion, I would have no problem keeping up. Guess I was wrong huh....? Oh well, now that I am this far into research, might as well fix it up....

what for, so we can tell another person to go buy a beater off ebay because the one he has is too nice to use?
I suppose I deserve that

This car is in nice shape but not too nice to be a light runner. Bottom of chassis looks good with minimal scratches. If you are going to run it I would protect the chassis with a protector of some kind. Thick tape works well. With the 6 gear tranny and no holes for a stealth I would keep it mild as far as motors and electrics go. I personally wouldn't drill it for a stealth. Plenty of CE's on ebay for cheap

And please don't dye any of the white parts ANY color. If you want black stuff contact me and I will trade you white for black!

Thanks for the advice. Wasn't planning on dying any of the parts. What to leave it as OEM as possible. You got a recommendation on a brand and type of motor? 27 Turn vs. 19 Turn? How about a brand name? Then just need to figure out the tires, hmm....

Here is another question? What year or years, or models, were the rims/tires the same for my car? I see many options on ebay, but just not sure which will work and which ones will not.....

Nice car, if you are going to actually use it you may want to get an Electronic Speed Cntrol. They provide smooth throttle responce and you'll get more from your motor. I found this one ebay that you may consider and I also include a link to a new one at tower.

or

these 2.0 rear tires will work for you as well

It's harder for me to find 2.0 fronts, no sugestions for those.

Fronts are stock that came with the car. I have a Speedworks Speedjem motor and some Reedy motor. Came with the car when I got it from craigslist. They are both same era motors so should be fine.

Thanks guys. Here is a curve ball. Notice the pictures of my rims. Then look at the picture that Charlie don't surf posted. My rims do not have have the 3 screws in them. I just noticed that my front rims say "Proline" on them. Did Proline make rims that year? The front tire's are Team Associated. The rear tires are 12.5-20.....You think my wheels are different size than stock?

those proline fronts are not stock, but are a fine wheel. It's 2.0 inches inside diameter.

the rear wheels look like stock that came with your car new and are also 2.0

Right on man. Thanks for the help. Being Proline wheels in the front, will it be easier to find a front tire?

Hey guys. I found a company still making wheels for the Vintage RC10. Company is based in the UK, called http://www.jcracingproducts.co.uk/. Looking at the rear closely, I see that groove cut into them, to fit the original drive and bearing arrangement. I asked and they say, they are designed to fit, "modern" sized tires....
They make only one style, the 5 spoked, which is pictured below. 3 colors, white, black and yellow....
Anybody heard of them?
