Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
I like the body. I realize that it's not everyone's cup of tea and that's ok. Because I'm good enough, smart enough and dog-gone it, people like me.

Hey Fastang, thanks again bud, but i remember you keeping one for yourself, built yet ?
I started a build but I don't like the direction its headed so I might start over. I'll gat a pic up.

I'll start a build thread in the RC10 section since 99% is AE parts

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
Wow, that is a very interesting build. It's funny, because I have tons of RC10 parts and I'm desperately trying to not use them for this Ultima. I'd like to keep everything Kyosho or Kyosho aftermarket. That being said, I think the only part I'm using that is not Kyosho is the steering. I'd like to use OTW-10, but unless you wanna get raped by El Chiquito del Fuego on ebay, you can't find them. So, I'm going to use a TA-05 steering set with a couple of Lazer parts.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
So last night I was having dreams about this Ultima build and I was thinking about the body. LOL. Anyways, one of the reasons why I selected the Outrage body is because it's wider towards the front. The original Turbo/Pro Ultima (II) body never fit this chassis correctly. It was too short lengthwise and too short top to bottom. It leaves a lot of chassis exposed. See pic.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
That's the original in the pic, right? i like it too but the Outrage body suits it quite well.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
Ok, it was raining here in So Cal this weekend so I spent more time indoors than I would have liked. On the plus side, got some work done on the Utlima. It's now a complete rolling chassis minus a steering servo, a wing and a way to mount the battery. I will add updated pictures later today, hopefully. Of course, "tomorrow" has many definitions on a forum...it could be next week.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
Great build, I realy like the shocks you are using. Are they later model Kyosho's?
I remember cutting up an outrage bodysehll for my Ultima back in the day. I had no painting skills back then and it looked awful. It will be good to see a shell thats been painted properly and put onto a nicer car than I owned back then.
Keep up the great work!

Ok, here are the updated pictures.
No paint yet on the body. I still need to get the mounting all squared up. Oh yeah, the shocks are Kyosho Equalizers.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
The fronts are Ultima RB5 and I'm not sure about the rears. I asked the hobby shop dude for RB5 rear wheels and he gave me the ones in the pic. After installing them, I noticed that they are different from the rears on my actual RB5 buggy. I'll have to check the part number. I think I saved the header card somewhere.
I'm going to write a full list of parts used if anyone is interested.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
Those are new RB5 rear wheels. They are al ittle narrower to make the tire bulge a bit more. They are part of the combo in the latest update which also use different CVD axles.

Re: RichieRich's Ultima builds
Updated pictures. I added a wing, bumper and replaced the rear wheels with the original RB5 versions. I like these better. I just need to rig a front body mount and shoot some paint.
