differences in the trannies

No, and if you have an early chassis, It will be impossible to fit a stealth without drilling it...
The older chassis (with a A under the motor) have only holes for the 6 gears, after there where chassis with both 6 gears and stealth holes (B) and last chassis with both holes but not contersunck for the 6 gears (C gold or black).

Drilling is not a problem as I own one. How much better will the stealth out perform the 6 gears? Speed, acceleration etc?

The stealth will outperform the 6 gear trans in all those areas. It has less gears, for less rotating mass making it just more efficient and smoother.

In That case, I think I really need to get a set! Btw, where can I get the alu type stealth, if available?
