Bah, I'm sure we can figure out how to put a 7.2 pack in there with little effort.scr8p wrote:http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=58441

I'm just happy to see it's got die cast suspension parts and that big crazy clear plastic thingy.

btw, what's with the bootleg pictures on the official website there Tamiya?

I was kinda freaked when I saw the same photo elsewhere..right after it was posted...I was starting to have my doubts about the whole thing until a day later when I saw the update on the US site.

Re: Exciting news......
good thing I never really got in to the older tamiya stuff, all those sand scorchers that I seen go for 3,500 to 4,500 on ebay now those people will be lucky to see a grand for them. On the upside anybody that couldn't afford them will be able to now

Re: Exciting news......
maybe if chevy "re-released" a 63 split window vette or pontiac re-released the '64 GTO (instead of the abortion/grand prix), or ford re-released the "65 shelby gt500 cobra", and kept the body ORIGINAL instead of this modern sleek looking crap, sales would skyrocket. I was excited when they re-released the camaro, but its a joke, looks ridiculous. they need to make the body ORIGINAL, i would buy that in a heartbeat..
tamiya has the right idea. re-release the original, make the few minor mechanical changes to allow for modern internal parts, and keep the outside original, and i think they are doing quite fine nowadays.

Re: Exciting news......
I'm sure prices will come down some, but they won't be reduced to 1/3 or 1/4 of what they were.

I e-mailed Tamiya USA yesterday, and asked about the expected pricing on the Buggy Champ & the possibility of a Sand Scorcher release.
They're suprisingly quick.
Here's the repsonse if anyone is interested.:
"Dear Tamiya Customer,
I wouldn’t expect anything for around a month or so. The news on the car coming out is still pretty fresh.

Re: Exciting news......
Yeah, I bet the last guy who bought a used black bumper for a c-note off of ebay is kicking himself right now...
I have noticed quite a few of the SRB's rolling on the bay. Get rid of it while it still has some retail value.
