Been a super long time since I've done anything on #2, but the time has finally come.
I was planning on going up to the Vintage Nats next weekend, but I wasn't planning on racing. Well, this and that happened and now I'm going to. Still have parts on the way and will have quite a thrash to get everything ready by Thursday night. Gotta install the electronics, redo that 4 shocks, glue up a couple sets of tires, and get a wing trimmed and mounted just to name a few things.
I wanted to trim up and paint a new body for it since I just wasn't really feeling the one I had sprayed for it awhile back. But I'm just not gonna have time to do it. I got to run it, so tonight I threw some stickers at it.

Hi Scr8p,
Looks sweet!
Paint scheme looks bloody good to me.
Good luck.
Cheers, Dave.

scr8p,
I saw this for sale in another thread and then saw this in your thread...not nib but looks pretty nice
scr8p wrote:here's the last of the B1.5 shelfer pics. i don't plan on doing anything else to this, unless a nib novak polaris receiver comes along. at that point, the airtronics receiver will be pulled in favor of that.

Do you mean a Novak Polaris? I got a couple of them NIP early last year, there's a pic of one installed in the car a page back. A guy was selling them super cheap on ebay, and he had a bunch of them.

Alright, it's pretty much ready for the weekend. I also have one hell of a disaster to clean up in the dundeon.

Thanks Brian.
Took some better pics outside. Figured I'd get them while the car is still clean.

Thanks. It's a little more beat up after the race than I was hoping, but it's retired now. Gotta build up something new for next year.

Man, the more I see it, the more I REALLY like that aluminum tub. Would go well with my RC10T front end. Actually, I'm running an entire RC10T, with buggy wheels, shock towers, and body. Hmmmmm, why must I get these temptations, WHY!
It's almost as if this build is the missing link between my RC10T, and my B4. Has more plastic than the RC10T, yet the aluminum tub has the B4 shape, and the tranny is more like the B4, but the front end is RC10.
Seems almost as if this would either A) give you the best qualities of both cars, or B) not work right due to the parts mismatching.

So how did it perform? Was it better than a dialled in Worlds? Not as good as a dialled in B2? Would love to know your thoughts?

It worked pretty well for a guy that ran only his third off-road race ever, and first race in the last 7 years.
I still doubt one of these b1.5's (in what I would call "stock" form) would handle any different than a worlds car. Other than the chassis shape and trans, it's basically the same thing.

The T2 chassis has to be substantially more rigid than the old RC10 pan? Thus, changing the way the suspension reacts with the track. To what degree is it different, that's the kicker. It looks sweet regardless.

Did you get any video of this car in action?

It may be a little more rigid due to it's shape, but I believe it's the same aluminum as a worlds tub. It would take a much, much better off-road racer than me that can lay down consistent lap times lap after lap to know for sure.
