here's the last of the B1.5 shelfer pics. i don't plan on doing anything else to this, unless a nib novak polaris receiver comes along. at that point, the airtronics receiver will be pulled in favor of that.

i had fun building this one, probably one of the favorites in my collection. now i got to get the runner finished up, and the wheels are turning for B1.5 #3.

you got paint one finished :!: :?: :!:  .

I'm liking it. Is this the next big thing to come outta the board? A WhatsNotAsOldIsNewer WNAOIN build should do it. Got to get going on mine. Since you started this I liked it and gotta get one into runner status.

Ok... new polaris receiver installed. Now it's done. :)

I also have a couple used t2 tubs on the way. One of them will become #3.

Really dig the way you pushed the body forward and handled it like that over the rear tower. Tight.

thanks guys.

giving me too much credit there.

the body can really only go one place since it's so tight to the chassis. not much room to shift it around. that's just where the tower ends up since it's mounted to the backside of the bulkhead. i was going to make a cover for it, but it's not that noticeable.

geeze..almost like it was designed to fit over that tub?..wait a minute... Things that make you go hmmm.

No cover necessary. I like the look of it myself.

the viper is probably the only AE body that was gonna fit on this tub. which works out fine for me, especially since i was aiming for a factory look with #1. if the body didn't dart in so much at the front of the front of the servo, it would be a lot better. if that was more flat like a b2/b3, the body could be moved back over top of the shock tower like a standard buggy. though the front would end up a bit on the short side.

eventually, i will make my own mold to fit these cars properly if i keep building them. it's already been discussed with Robert (ROH73). at the very least, we'll make a viper mold and i'll alter it as needed for a more custom fit.

I really like this thread 8) . Really nice builds.
Regarding the T2 chassis i have found that there is two types.
One is clean (no holes) out the sides except for the antenna mount
and the other has two extra holes on the left side i think (seen from the rear looking forward, bottom down)
Is this first and second generation chassis or am i way wrong and what are the additional holes for?

The other holes are for the mechanical speed control that came in the cheaper T2 sport kits. but i would guess all later kits, whether it was the team or sport version, received the tub with the msc holes.
