I told we couldn't leave until he showed up. Of course I had to bust one open to check out the contents. Very nice to see all those pristine white parts in bags.
 That happened to me yesterday too. Waiting for a "toy" to be delivered is not an acceptable excuse for postponing a pregnant girl's dinner  She didn't rip my head off though

Well a shot in the dark, I replied to Tower's "Your shipment shipped" email and explained it is headed to wrong address. They responded quickly and I was able to verify my NY address. So they are going to attempt to intercept the driver. Thank you Tower. Should be about four hours away from boarding to fly back to the states!!!!

So does anyone think we can whiten the parts? I'm considering trying. Input?

why would you want to whiten brand new parts? I agree making some old nasty yellow parts whitish again, but the natural nylon color is really more of a cream-color anyway.

but to answer you question, yeah, doing the peroxide trick will probably make them whiter.

The originals were this same color.. It should work the same.
Any of the builds of original cars that are too white could be considered over restored.

Although..I think they look good when brightened up like this.

Over restored perhaps... But I could swear at one point the nylon matched the color of the wheels and I have NIP 10t wheels I whitened everything to, I am guessing the new nylon is creamier then before ;)

I would swear by the pics that the parts look more "tan" now, but I just received a set of shock hardware and the color is great.

yeah, i have been pretty happy with the pictures of received chassis', going by the stock photos they are really dark orange, but the actual parts look to be a nicer gold tone. Mine is on it's way, contemplating whether I want to keep it or not(since I have been unpacking stuff after a move realizing just how much crap I have)

To me they seemed white, a lot whiter than my original 6 gear after 25 years. I don't see a point in whitening them more. What look are you wanting to get? Its a NIB build so the nylon parts will all look the same level of white across the board.

Enjoy taking the parts out of the bags and building the car, not taking the parts out and waiting 3 days to peroxide them to get one shade lighter. For me this rere was all about building another NIB RC10 something I haven't been able to do since 1989.

There were no 10T's in 1984-85. :D

I have said this before.. We compared the color of the Nylon to the Nylon of the RCH SRB parts which were White. The Associated stuff was Yellow, Creamy or Off White. The A&E parts never took the Rit Dye as well either and thats why you find stuff out there in Black on its 2nd dye job.

Im sure J-Sou owns a stash of mint RCH Nylon and can speak to this.

Maybe not... but it was my only nip Associated white plastic! ;)

I did manage to pick up a 99 cent early straight legged with parma styled bypass arm MSC and oddly the bypass standoff is not yellowed at all... and it matches my 10t wheels almost exactly.

I just ordered a set from the guy on eBay. I sent him a message and he is tacking on (4) 1/4 x 3/8 flanged for the steering for an extra $5.

asked the ebay guy if he could ship it here in Singapore, he said, yes but he needs to add $7 for handling + Plus actual shipping. sorry but I think the $7 alone will be enough to cover for the shipping, so I said i'll pass.
