I just started to screw the tranny to the pan and noticed that the tranny screw holes in the pan are not counter-sunk! :( The rear-most rear arm mount holes aren't either but all four stealth tranny mounting holes are?!

Anyone else seeing this, too?

I've had my kit 2 days now, pulled it all out and havent taken anything out of bags yet :(

I went to the LHS to grab a few items, and wouldnt you know it, they didnt have anything I wanted...

No B4 top shaft
No Lunsford ti turnbuckles
they did have the vented slipper parts, but it was already a bust and I wasnt going to get just one part that I couldnt use without the others.

I'm surprised more finished cars aren't being posted yet. Everyone seems to be taking their time or not in a hurry to build them.

I also wonder what percentage of the population have received their kits and who still hasn't.

Tower just filled my backorder.
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

So after reading your post i have to say a few things.i went and checked the one rc10 tower sent me as i am still waiting on the 2nd one.my holes lol are counter sunk.i do notice the difference in the gold ano but i can live with it. Also the screws are not all the same color ano as some are lighter than other some are almost army green? The chassis does seem thinner but i havent miced it.the ball cups are .....well mybe its me but they are blue tinted? I had hoped the would have put in the sway bar but i got a n.i.p. One for 10 off ebay. The parts are not white. Now i am by no means putting it down i felt almost wrong cutting the seal but oh wait its not a og one so then i felt like a kid in a candy store. Other than my graphite i never got to do a new outta the box one. Almost all of my cars are peice by peice new builds and they take a while.i am lookin forward to some free time to build it and see what i have been waiting for since i placed my order.
Back to your chassis holes...factory defect?makes it rare? Call a.e.?counter sink them you self if ya order the right counter sink and take you time.
My pop always said i had to many iron's in the fire

I too have never cracked a seal on a RC10...of any kind. All of mine have always been bought used or trade deals. I think this is the biggest part of ordering it. I am thinking of making this a project with my two youngest boys. They like "wrenching" with dad for the past couple of years now. Actually, I have some worlds and a couple graphites that need to be worked on that I got shortly after deploying. So might just wait on the Rere and see how they follow directions on that. Then maybe completely disassemble my 6gear goldie and have them do a supervised build off with both goldies. Hmmm....I just can't wait to get home!!!

Agreed, interesting that people are taking their time but they are still trickling in. I'm sure they'll start popping up before we know it though. I haven't gotten mine from tower yet but plan on leaving it NIB for however long it takes me to get around to assembling it. I have a ton of projects to get to so I'm in no rush.

My motor plate is a touch darker than the chassis/nose. My chassis & nose are spot on (to my eyes).

I broke down and re-ordered a re-release... but I see no point building it with my used Edinger to run :)

So why buy one then? Just to have it sit in the box?

If that is the case, buy two. Build one and run it, keep the other sealed. That is what I hope to do.

Well I did plan to buy two... then I acquired the Edinger for cheap, and since I can't un-build/un-use the Edinger back into it's non-existant box, I will just have the original one as my built gently run car :)

i was talking about the people rationalizing why they didnt get one, for whatever reason.

its fun as hell to build a minty 6gear without paying thru the nose for it.

still gotta figure out what motor/esc to run, definitely brushless. tempted to go with a pro4 and see what happens.

got mine to a roller. couldnt help but trim the noseplate and use better steering and turnbuckles. i got bunches of options to take it any direction i wanted with aftermarket hopup cake decorations, but im kinda digging the stocker approach.

went together like any rc10. lacks the soul of the original ... but still cool.
