Re: 93 WCS poss ran at 93 Worlds UK? KO Decals added, page 1
I recieved an email from Gary (Gazan over on Tamiyaclub), whom I originally brought this YZ-10. His message initially is regarding some more YZ-10 parts (Fastrax wheels & wheel dots) that had been donated to the Southend Model Car Club by the original owner of my 93WCS (Stuart Collard). Stuart had also previously donated the WCS to the Southend club to sell on & raise funds.
Anyway, this is the exert from Gary's e'mail that is particularly exciting!
'I also spoke to Stuart about the YZ10 and he said that Masami had actually run that chassis and then donated it to him as he was the top amateur! It was one of only a handful of hand finished prototype YZ10^s!'
I also recieved in the post on Christmas Eve, a green 'Reedy Modifieds' decal (thanks Reggie) that I have already applied to the wing... i'll have to get a picture up with this new addition!

Green Reedy decal added to wing

If indeed this was a car that Masami used.. it adds justification to my decision to make resemble the car he used to win the worlds back in 93'

Hahaha - yeah its not the biggest jump in progress, but I guess now any addition to this build will be small 'finishing' touches!jamin wrote:Never before has the forum been so excited about one new green stickerDerbyDan wrote:Green Reedy decal added to wing![]()

Thanks for everyones complimentry comments, I think i've said it before; there are other 'replica' projects by forum members on here that more faithfull in terms of the chassis build - Reggie's own WCS & Kenooze's Kinwald RC10 spring to mind, I think I have been lucky in obtaining many of the correct decals, the orange wing & the red wheel dots, all of which add up to gaining the 'look' of Masami's original car.... with the shell on

Ah, but yours can lay claim to some provenance.DerbyDan wrote:Thanks for everyones complimentry comments, I think i've said it before; there are other 'replica' projects by forum members on here that more faithfull in terms of the chassis build - Reggie's own WCS & Kenooze's Kinwald RC10 spring to mind, I think I have been lucky in obtaining many of the correct decals, the orange wing & the red wheel dots, all of which add up to gaining the 'look' of Masami's original car.... with the shell on

Excellent . . . except that's a '94 Reedy Green Sticker, which would not have existed in 93 - yes? You can tell by the kerning between the letters. They started using foreign presses right around that time.
Just kidding of course.
This is an extremely cool ride. All of the stickers add so much detail and realism. Maybe one day I'll have the patience to take an RC car to that level!

Re: 93 WCS poss ran at 93 Worlds UK? KO Decals added, page 1
Not much has happened with this in recent times - however, what with my WCS currently up for 'Vote' in this month's 'Car of the Month' competition I thought I'd share a couple of shots of this car.
The only real additions have been some more decals/stickers... the eagle-eyed amongst you may spot the extra 'Masami Hirosaka' text on the wing & roof of the shell, also the little Masami Character on the front of the shell.... a massive thanks for these three goes to a fellow RC10Talk member who's awesome Losi also appears in this month's competition
I've also added a Japanese flag to the wing... this came from a decal sheet for the Kyosho Lazer ZX.... which looks very similar to what Masami used. I did buy the '93 Masami' decal sheet from MCi & added the pink Sanyo & Takatani decals from that sheet... they are not 100% - but they get the 'look' near enough (some of the other decals from the same sheet are quite a little bit 'to be desired'
