Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
So I did a bit of work on the car the last few days. Got the battery boxes cut, and rear box holes drilled in back to remove soil and debris. Made a Sanyo 1700 sce battery pack with what I had.
Installed the Airtronics 94151 servo
Installed the original Cliff Lett owned Novak NER-3FM 27mhz RX
Sadly the ESC Cliff gave me was a later model than used at the 91 Worlds, so I restored and installed this correct Novak M1c with what I think is correct switch and zip tie placement.

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
Something interesting I found out when I visited Cliff and Curtis at AE. The rear springs used were not Yokomo, but only four sets were custom made buy a guy in Detroit just for that race (they could not remember his name at the time). If I remember what they said correctly, they were made the night before. So I took the Copper colored Yokomo springs off and placed these on.

Awesome work on this and you have the body signed!
I really do like the look of those rear hubs and rims! I looked back at the previous post an was wondering why they drilled all the holes in the rear wheels versus just a couple vents holes?

Amazing. I am amazed. Imagine unleashing this thing back in '91, full roost.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

These are lightening holes to reduce mass rotation.SFC K wrote:Awesome work on this and you have the body signed!I really do like the look of those rear hubs and rims! I believe that those are not for lightening, but making wheels more flexible that would help suspension on rough parts of the track = on "surf section" that was in front of drivers stand.SFC K wrote:Awesome work on this and you have the body signed!I really do like the look of those rear hubs and rims!
