Well if selling modern buggies is the goal making retro gold pan adverts and 1:1 models is utterly pointless.

I think its brilliant actually because it can be built up as a winning tradition that is still going after 30 years and could be ended with a B5 to carry on the tradition. Nothing wrong with that marketing IMO.

There was a petition started last year or something I saw on RCTech asking AE to reproduce the RC10. Anyone see the results of that? I went and looked just now, it has 41 signatures. It took a year to get those results. :shock:

Sadly, IMO I think that interest in the original or a re-re gold pan is a VERY limited market. Although it is quite cool to see how much the old cars spark interest when taken to a track, the sales are in whats new. With that said, I would love to see a re-re of the original gold pan.

Here's a great example of a retro car ad (full scale obviously) positioned to sell modern cars.

I didn't sign because the internet already has too much info available on me, and I don't feel the need to go around voluntarily helping to spread it . :P

Everything being said here doubting a re-release is the exact same things said over at TC about a Sand Scorcher re-re, bruiser re-re and look what happened! :D

yea i vote to keep my id over a rere rc10. i almost wanted to comment "i want to vote should i give you my ss# too" ?
