There are a few versions of the molded caps, so if your trying to be precise you will want the old style plastic caps (common with C.E.'s), but used on lot's of AE race cars from 1991-1993. Also, the RCPS and early Lunsford links were indistinguishable from each-other- but it was way more common to see the RCPS decals on AE buggies. And the early MIP CVD bones do not have the "bell lip" at the outermost point of the shaft, and should look like the fronts. If I'm not mistaken, the 93' WC was their big race debut-

The black one on the right is the "correct" plastic version (next to a team-only hard anno cap)
Early CVD shafts (axles were unchanged)

Thanks for the info! I have lots of plastic shock caps, so that is not an issue. Looking at the axles, my rears have a groove in the outer "bell" and that is the only difference I see. I am assuming this is what you are talking about. I took these axles from my Worlds car that I bought new in 93' - 94' and I thought these came with the car, but my memory is shot, so not sure?

Awesome news 8) the rear tires you need (for the race and that pic) are Pro-Line 8086 (flat stubbies), but you probably knew that-

The front tires look kinda like Yokomo TR-39F, but those front arms were notched for a deep inset front rim, and the ones in PRP's scan are definitely not the standard MIP 4-10 front rim, they are a really deep inset rim, hell- they look like B44 front rims- I can't place the front rims, since the Lazer and the YZ-10's still had a regular offset, and Losi didn't have their Wheeler out- Schumcher or something?

The Novak Speedo would probably be a 410-M1c, or 410-HPC (2 time WC that year)

The batteries are Orion 1700 SCRC's-

I'll leave you be, so you can do some research now

One more- I'd bet it's a 410-HPC since the 1993 410 M1-C was a side-wire and the HPC is a top-wire.

(The earlier M1c was a top-wire but was SPF equipped and prone to popping the fuses, most replaced them in real racing situations)

I looked at my solder pop 410m1 and did some searching for the m1c

Judging by the wide brake fet heat sink it will be one without the solder pop fuse, and judging by the 3 wire it will be the m1 or m1c, from the angle it's really impossible to tell, either a m1 or m1c would work fine there, a m5 would need the 3 wire conversion.

Ok, so here we go..................I called Eustace tonight and this is what I was able to find out and what I was not able to find out:

I have one of two purpose built cars for the 1993 World Championships in England. Both cars were purple anodized and the second car is in a case in Eustace's office!

The car did not belong to Thomas Hightower until after the Worlds.

This car was only raced at the Worlds in 93'

Eustace believes that this car was driven by B.J. Christensen, but I cannot find that name in the line up either? Anyone out there remember a B.J. that raced for MIP?

This car was completely built in house at MIP. They took the original gold pan, cut it, milled it, and had it anodized purple. Eustace says that they did extensive research and development on this car before the Worlds.

The front suspension was hand made by Eustace for the Worlds and would have become production if they would have finished better at the Worlds. He does not recall where they finished, only that they did not win. He admits that the standard front suspension was not strong enough, so he made these. He also stated that if they had better battery technology back then, the car would have been much more competitive.

This car did not have a belt tensionor like came in the 4-10 kits, but had a nylon belt guide that was double sided taped to the top of the servo. They adjusted the belt tension at the front chassis braces by turning the nylon nut at the front. He says that they were also able to reduce the front kick up this way.

Eustace does not remember the car having the Losi Hydradrive system as the magazine article stated and can be seen in the photos. He only knows that he did not install the Hydradrive and does not know who modified it.

Eustace does not remember what body they ran on the car. The first thing that came to mind was Andy's, so I will have to research to see what Andy's had at that time. Any info on this from you guys is appreciated! It very well could have been an Associated body as well, but he does not know.

The front wheels were MIP for the 4-10 Legend. They were injection molded and should have been the same as what came standard with the 4-10 kits.

He believes that the front tires may have been Yokomo.

The speed control should have been a Novak M1c.

Well, that is about it. He is going to look for some parts for me and let me know if he comes up with anything. Thanks to Eustace Moore for providing as much information as possible for this restoration.
