I just scored a few sets of 9490Y B2/B3 rear wheels for my 3/16 conversion!

neat little rig, its always nice to see somebody actually running these things and not just building a static model. not that there is anything wrong with shelf queens...

btw, some heatshrink over the end of the cvc bell also helps keep the pins in, even if the screw backs off.

you should look into going to this years vintage nationals in ct the end of september since you are relatively close.
it was pretty darn fun last year.

Thanks for the tips! I have found that using Loctite red on the set screw of the CVD really locks that guy in place and havent had any issues. But yeah, that 7700 is a little crazy to where I have it geared right now. 17/83. I am planning to knock it down a bit. I ran a 15/91 in the woods the other day and it worked really well and didnt heat up.

Another handful of parts. I have been cutting back as I am headed out for vacation at the end of this week. Will be holding off for a little while as I am dumping quite a bit of money into my Subaru for the summer. The RC car is on the back burner.

But for now, I have a set of Traxxas Anaconda tires for the front and rear. 3 sets of 3/8 B2/B3 rear wheels, 1 set of fronts, 4 3/8" MIP axles, New set of MIP CVDs, 3/8" bearings all for my updated axle swap. Just need to get the right washers. That will be in the next batch of parts ordered from Tower. Until then, ebay and the internet are wonderful things when trying to find hard to come by parts!

Picked up a big bunch of parts. Some needed to fix the broken other simply just to rebuilding things like the tranny and shocks. I broke my front A-arm a while ago and replaced it with a nylon one of a donor car and that didnt last long. I decided to try out RPMs from A-arms, but also have a spare set of worlds A-arms if I want to switch back. Also completed my 3/16 swap and now I need to re-glue the tires and I keep blowing them off the rims. Car runs great other than that.


Picked up a Viper body as I pretty much destroyed the ebay body the first time out from a bumpy road. Paint isnt really all that great, but it works for a runner. Im still learning as far as technique.

Im still looking for a black motor plate as well. This one gets the job done for now.
