Whoa, its the perfect Sand Scorcher AE never made!!!

Whoa, its the perfect Sand Scorcher AE never made!!!

Hi fellas, A little update on this sweet ride!

....An extra bonus is that the front and rear track width match well together with the old but solid RC10 suspension and the 27mm shorter chassis modification. It is roughly 10mm wider than a Tamiya S.Scorcher track width in the front and the back, so it should spank the tamiya sand Scorcher in overall handling. No contest. (if you are wondering about the rear rims, its because the Tamiya Wild Ceptor rear rims are the only kind I have available to me right now that clear the RC10 suspension. And that fit a paddletrack tire. I would have used 1st gen RC10 rims if I had an extra set. Had to use HPI rear RC10 /hex adaptors to mount the Wild Ceptor rears to the AE stub axles.......

Awesome !!! I have to make one also, the funky look of the cox boddy makes it really cool. Great job.

How do you plan to paint the body like?

Rock n roll Scorcher!

Post by scollins »

Thanks fellas, this little project is causing quite a stir on TamiyaClub.com today.... not so much here. Well not yet, but everyone that has seen it likes it. Considering making a kit to sell to transform your RC10 runner into one of these, stay tuned on that.

I have had two people from the TamiyaClub site in the last 3 hours ask me if I could build one for them!!! And I just posted this in the morning (today 2-7-07).

8) As usual, when you mix things up a bit it is sure to get noticed. Most people would never dream of hacking up a gold tub. Most guys that I have seen just drill one-thousand holes in a gold tub and call it modified and "lighter" for racing, lol. My techniques are a little different!! Thats OK, I like the challenge.

Scollins, your project is awsome, do you have a link to the body? You have got me thinking that this would be a cool project for a tub chassis GT. :)

If I could ever get off my butt and/or slow down for a minute, I could offer that body up to you guys. And I think mine looks better. I NEED MORE TIME IN THE DAY.

It will take some time, especially if the move does happen (still not certain yet)...... don't wait on me, you might be waiting a while.
