Does it say in that add what kind of titanium they are made from?

here's my first pair of light weight aluminum outdrives. unfortunately, i found out about the weedwacker line trick after i had already killed these.

Thats what some of my AE steel outdrives look like. That's a good way to pop the end off a CVD, ask me how I know.

Sorry for the small pictures. The advertisement does not mention what type of titanium the outdrives are made of. It mentions that they weigh only 9.8 grams per pair.
The full description from the advertisement in RC Car Action August 1994 is as follows-
New for Associated cars. Titanium outdrive sets for the Stealth transmission (part number BCA3020). Talk about the ultimate in Hi-perfomance. After months of research and development BARRACUDA is proud to introduce one of the trickist parts of all time. At a weight of only 9.8 grams per pair, Barracuda Titanium Stealth outdrives are nearly 50% lighter than the stock transmission outdrives. Now that's some serious reduction in rotating mass! These outdrives are recommended for Hi-perfomance racing applications only. Ask Oval National Champion Brian Landgraff how well they work, he won't run a race without 'em.

Thanks for posting that Dual. Too bad it doesn't mention the type of Ti they used. I'm just very surprised to see Ti wear out like that. I would have though it would be much more abrasion resistant.

OK i have a dogbone with the pin almost all the way out. It slides around a lot and I'm thinking its going to come out soon. Now how can I keep this pin in there??? Or this weedwacker line trick...you have to show me that!!!

the weedwacker line is easy. knock out the pin, and shove the line in.

yeah the pin can be moved almost out but the end still holds it in...I tried to make it a little tighter by using pliers but i think i was making it worse...I'm not sure the best way to save the dogbone...maybe once it falls out just jamming in the weedwacker line will work...
