On the associated website, they say this:

How can I use the 2.2" buggy tires and rims?

In order to use the current wheels and tires you will need the following:
7378 3/16 axles
#9277 bearings (3/16 x 3/8 flanged bearings)
#7369 axle pins #7368 axle shims

So, is the consensus on this forum that the above actually doesn't work? I guess there are wheel clearance issues with suspension and steering movement...?? what specifically is "wrong" with the above approach?

Also they say nothing about the front tires, so do "modern" tires fit right onto the old axles?

The AE website is talking about using 2.2" B3 wheels, which are discontinued.

The AE website tip will work if you use Evader rear wheels, it is also for a dogbone setup, if you use B2 CVD's then you won't need the 7378 axles

To use B4 front wheels you need to use T4 inline axles to make up for the increased offset of the B4 front wheels.

Just a quick FYI, tower has the "shiny" B2/B3 CVD kit heavily discounted and in limited quantities. So, if you want a cheap price, better get them now. p/n 1198

Just wanted to offer another and more readily available option, this one goes to Mark Westerfields credit. If you want to run b4 wheels all you need is b4 hubs and a set of bj4/b44 axles. I took mine one step further by using the Racers Edge hubs because they give you four outer ball stud options so you can adjust you camber rate to compensate for the extended hub length (the pivot point is moved outward in relation to the position of the hinge pin which changes your camber gain)

Can I take the 1/4 axless off my CVDS and put on a 3/16 axles from a B2,B3,T3, ect. Then just change the hubs, bearings, and shims?

No, you need longer bones because the hubs are out about 1/4" further. BJ4 or B44 front CVD bones are what I was told to use.

I was refering to using B2/B3 wheels. Aren't the bones the same length on the RC10 and B2 cvds?

yes, you can get just the 3/16" cvd axles and use the bones from your 1/4" cvd set.

That's what I'm planning to do; I have 1/4" CVDs and two extra 3/16" axles, but no dogbones, so new CVD axles would be like $6 more total than two new dogbones. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAW08&P=SM

What is the difference in offset I see mentioned? I want to use a set of Pro-Line Velocity wheels with Dirt Hawgs on an RC10; will these wheels be too narrow?

You can still get the B2 front wheels for associated website, i just ordered two sets and inline axles and steering blocks. I have the upgraded rear cvds so can i use the B4 rear wheels now.

Ha Ha - i've just found this out - I brought some B2/B3 CVDs in preparation to convert my car to 2.2 wheels. Last Friday a friend from the local club donated some wheels from his old B3..... & the wheels fitted straight on the original axles! I'm guessing these are wheels from a 'Sport' model B3?

However I still want to run the MIP driveshafts as the original worlds car UJs are almost 'shot' so still need the 3/16" fitment wheels with the thin drive pin

Front wheel-wise the bearings from the 2" one peice Worlds car wheels drop straight into the B2/B3 2.2" wheels of the same colour

Right now my RC10 has B4 rear hubs and 3/16th axles with bearings, but the dogbones are a little to short because the B4 rear hub is offset a little farther than stock. Since I've got the axles, is there any dogbone that would fit with this setup?
