Tecnica, that baja bug looks awesome.

Just my way of slinging a little poo. I know your stance on restoration techniques. I don't disagree with them, just flinging a little something somethin' in your direction. 8) :P :P

I think I only have two very strong do nots as far as restorations go.

1. DO NOT reproduce rare hard goods.

2. DO NOT over polish things so their nice crisp edges get rounded off. It looks like crap.

Other than that you can do whatever you want as far as I'm concerned. Put 2.2's buggy tires on a Sand Scorcher, or hard anodized shocks on a 6010, if that's what you think is the thing to do. I'll think it's totally ridiculous, but if that's the way you like it, no problemo. Heck, you can even over polish and round off your stuff, it belongs to you, go ahead and destroy it if you want to. But, as soon as I see some reproduction Tecnacraft wheels, or other rare parts, you can expect to see a full on nuclear melt down. This board will be a very unpleasant, yet entertaining place to be on that day.

Tecnica, I'd LOVE to see more hi-res pics of that bug. Looks great!
There are plenty more pictures of that buggy and others in my TC album, check it out:

The Traxxas bullet wheels are/were 2.1" wheels, I have some desert gator wheels (2.2) and they are a bit larger than the Carsons.

So I figure they're 2.0 wheels and tires.

As far as distributors, I had to bite the bullet and buy em from fusion hobbies, but it was worth it, to finish that buggy.

I had it at the Vintage Nationals, and it was operational, but I didn't want to run it in the 2wd class.

Did fusion offer them separate? It looks like they only have the two different premounted sets to offer.

Haha, that instantly made me think of a song by The Sword. I'd say the lyrics are pretty close to the way I'd be feeling.

Can't you see what you have wrought here?
Bloody battles will be fought here

May the mountains rise against you
May the forests block your path
May your axes chip and shatter
And know it is my Wrath
I would mount your heads on the bloody spears
Outside your palace gates
And watch as crows peck out your eyes
And your cities are laid to waste

Can't you see what you have wrought here?
A curse on you and all your kin
Bloody battles will be fought here
Await your doom at empire's end
May the wivers rush to drown you
Nay the earth swallow your hosts
May the winter's wolves surround you
And rip the life from your throats

It's a good tune if you want to hear it, here's the video:

Believe me, I looked everywhere, but fusion is the only place i found that would sell them and ship to the U.S.

I mean, I'm pretty sure there are other places, but that's the only place I found.

Yes, they will fit tamiya, the rear wheels are 12mm hex type adapter thingy, and the fronts are 5x11 bearing hubs, which is what the frog and most of the tamiya buggies use.

I bought a whole traxxas bullet just for the wheels, and ended up using the wheels on my Bullet based baja

As I was looking at pictures of the car, makes me want to get another one.

Now that I've had a couple of RC10s with their narrow front end, I could've made the front end on the Bullet a bit narrower to get the wheels to tuck in the fenders a bit.

those wheels would look killer on an RC10 Also, all you need is a 5x11 bearing reducer from HPI, its basically a plastic spacer that will make the 5x11 hole smaller in order to fit an RC10 front wheel bearings.

The rears, all you would need is a hex adaptor on the rc10 axle and mount the wheel onto it.

That Baja is just killer. Makes me want to build one up to race next to my Slash...hmmmmm, HPI baja body, Pro SE, Carson wheel/tires....??? Those are buggy sized...stupid question, I know...wonder what they would look like on some Rulux wheels on my XX4 truggy...12mm wouldnt be that hard to do, run 4 rears.

I think I may just have another project on my hands........

Rick,

Check it out:

There's only a pair of the fronts.

I think tower has em in white also, they can be painted, dyed, or plated.

They're from the Traxxas spirit, with a bit of careful gluing you can fit 2.2 tires onto them.

I actually ran that buggy on the beach, and it looked awesome, I'm going to see if I can download some of the footage onto DVD and transfer it to youtube.
