It did seem the largest for the price point.....30$ seems more reasonable, but shipping in included, which prob costs 5-8$

i have a very large and expensive Ultrasonic cleaner that i got from work because they were to stupid to find out what it was before they threw it out. its a Branson ultrasonic industrial unit with a 2.5 heated tank and timer it is similar to this one

i got a boat load of stuff the day we cleaned out the back room at work and they let us buy what ever we wanted at $1.00 each. along with this i also got a Tenma 100mhz. oscilliscope, Tenma isolation transformer, Tenma freq.counter, Tenma 30a adj power supply, Tenma portable pattern generator and a weller WTCPT soldering station. needless to say my electronics shop got a whole lot bigger.

yeah tell me about it, all of the shop tech's made off with all kinds of good stuff that day. the thing that pissed everybody off was the stuff we didnt take got tossed in a junk trailer and hauled away. most of the test equipment could have been donated to a local technical school or they could have sold it on ebay but they didnt want to take the time. the remainder of the stuff was mainly old out dated equiment but it was still useable to somebody.

Same here, happens in our game as well, I have a vintage Serpent Impact SSG 1/8 Nitro, rang Serpent distributor in UK about old stock, to be told they moved buildings, and all the old stock in the Basement went into a landfill skip, what a damn waste

Got the same from the Australian PB distributor, about all their Mini Mustang and Maxima parts.... landfill..... I nearly cried.... then I went DIGGING!!!!

I got loads of NIP PB stuff, cleared a racer of his gear a year ago, Thundershot, PB, a Mardave and a bundle of stuff
lots of bags of bits in the tool carrier, even bulbs to discharge batteries, those were the days

You don't need those chassis spines matey... send them over...

I've looked at the small "home" ultrasonic cleaners too... between $40 - $60 depending on size and shipping. If it takes just a little more dirt out of the parts than a q-tip it would be worth it to me!

It all makes for some interesting reading.

I know harbor freight has one for 30$, but then their's tax....so I might as well order this one perhaps.....

I don't think a day goes by where something does not show up at my doorstep....

Sorry to revive an old post, but didn't want to make a new one for ultrasonic cleaning since I found this one in the archives....

I have an ultrasonic cleaner that I've had great results with for various metal hardware. I was wondering if putting anodized parts in it (shock parts) would affect the finish? Does anyone know 100%? Thanks!

I imagine that it would depend on what cleaning agent you use. Soap and water for instance isn't going to hurt anything.

I'd have to agree. As far as I understand it, ultra-sonic uses vibration to aid the solvent in removing grease and grime. My dad used an ultrasonic cleaner for clock and watch parts, both metal and plastic as I recall. As long as the solvent doesn't harm the parts, then the ultra-sonic action won't either.
