People ask me all the time how our bearings are priced so low but perform and last so long. To some racers the price scares them because they believe the bearing will fall apart immediately because of the price. There are several factors in why the price is so affordable. The biggest reason is because quite frankly bearing companies have been screwing you over as the racer, bearings are a non-industry specific item, meaning none of these bearings are made specially for RC. But you as the end user have no idea of that, so RC companies take advantage of that and to top it off they last or perform longer than Avid bearings do. Secondly, we don't do kits so this keeps work load down. Thirdly, I handle every side of the business including web development, graphics, advertising, development and so forth so I am not needing to pay 5 - 20 employees to do what I need done. I learned it all in my previous careers

you mentioned about proper lubes.. im in the adult video industry so i know a thinking or two...
but honestly. what type of lubes are bad for the bearings?

i use something called gun butter

It is trial and error honestly on the lubes. Most anything you buy on the market designed for bearings if good but at the manufacturer level of the bearing, they try to save money on oils/lubes that just don't hold up to our temperatures or loads. So as an end user you don't have to worry about it like a bearing company does. Did that make sense?

Hi David, I've also heard that high ABEC ratings in small sized bearings (for our rc hobbies) actually slow down its spin too. I'm a big fan of your bearings and have been using them in nearly everything I own since I heard of your company on rc10b4.com in 2004.

Are you gonna make 3/8x5/8 revolution bearings?

We already make them, however on the last run they couldn't get them done in time so we had to go with dual rubber this batch. Should have them in about a month unfortunately.

templeofspeed - Yeah Associated bearings are rediculously expensive too!

David, sorry if my previous post was incorrect and mis-informed. I had spoken to Dave Crescenzi from RCB about it, and he is the one who explained it to me. I guess I mis-understood him, or I just didn't grasp it completely. I did not mean for that post to be an attack on Avid bearings, sorry if it came out that way.

Justin - No problems at all, I wanted to clarify the comments. Appreciate the post. Rule of thumb in my book is try out all the bearing companies and go with what you like, I know I did so I started a company, lol
