Front:
Traxxas Big Bore Shocks, stock piston, stock spring, 50 wt Associated oil, no clips. Outside on arm.

Rear:
Traxxas Big Bore Shocks, stock piston, stock spring, 40 wt Associated oil, stock clip. Stock postions (as out of the box)

Battery to the rear (lipo), no weight added. Rear body mount in highest position (stops the tires from rubbing the body when landing big jumps). -2 camber all around.

Novak Cyclone Speedo, B&R motor (19T single, 550 can), stock gearing (18/86).

I run at Pegasus Hobbies in Monclair CA. We normally get around 15 trucks (sometimes more, more times less). For a couple weeks before the Traxxas race, we were getting a spec and mod class turn out. I ran "mod" class with a 27T stocker, I had my Mamba in there....way too much to race with. I have a set of JC Goosebumps glued up to stock wheels for the rear, and Losi Directionals on the front, as well as a set of bone stockers. All using stock Traxxas wheels. Best trick I have found is to more the rear camber link to the top hole, it requires a bit of shaving on the rear tower, seems to give better side bite. Changes the roll center. I went to the Traxxas big bore shocks, and wow, they are smooth awesome performers. My truck jumps really sweet using them. The one thing I did end up doing was running a 3X30mm screw from the back of the shock tower to attach the shocks. The stock step screws kept backing out after a 5 minute run.

Other than that, be smooth, keep up your momentum and HAVE A BLAST.

Yeah, keeping up the momentum is the KEY to being fast with these with the stock setup. I would like to try the big bore shocks, but it would be outside of our spec rules. We can use the caps though since the stockers are prone to blowing out. One thing we have been doing is using a little CA on the inner rear a arm pin/screws to keep them from backing out.

mine Does?? worse than the stock one and what exactly are the big bore shocks?? I hate to sound stupid but I am not a Traxxas Fan, you dont know what it took for me to even buy it I dont know anything about them at all??? i get its a hop up, but do you change something in the shocks or replace the whole shock??

They are an all alloy replacement shock. A bit smaller in diameter from the stock "ultra" plastic shock, but very smooth feel to them.

I addressed the shock top issue by using up-travel limiters. Basically, the shaft/piston push up to far and blow the shock off. The rear hinge pins, I removed my stock ones and put them back in from the other side (head facing the front of the truck). When I pulled my boys new truck out of the box, I see they are put in that way now. No issues since swapping sides.

Luckily, our track has spec rules, but they will not turn anyone away. Every time I have raced there, a box stock truck usually wins. (Greg Hodapp is a great driver).

They do not have that body on their website. Just give them a call. They are very friendly and helpful. Tell them what you are after and they will hook you up!

#153 Iron Man Toyota

The Ironman toyota is different than the Toyota extra cab.

I know the front end is kinda funny lookin, but I really would like to get my hands on one of these:

I love the iron man stewart scheme!I bought two slashes for Christmas ,one for my son and one for myself what a blast these trucks are I was shocked my wife didnt get mad when she saw we turned the backyard into a race track

that nissan body kind of looks like a corvette front end, it's just ugly enough to look really good. Who made the Ironman body for the 10T?
