AH! It's a sandblast process! What a stupid I am..

In the company I work for there are labs with sandblast / mediablast machines, so I could ask for the service.. at the price of a cup of coffee.
While glass beading is very similar to sandblasting, do NOT sandblast them!! Glass beading is very gentle on the parts while sandblasting them will eat the parts away in no time at all!

i haven't really done anything with rebuilding the car yet. but, once the car has served it's purpose (09 nats), and is relegated to live out it's life on the shelf, i finally got the rims and tires i want it to sit on.
2520/2550 front and rear proline rims (all new)
pro-35/pro-60 front and rear proline tires (all new)
the front rims are whiter than the rears, so i'll just blow some cigarette smoke on them for a little while until they all match.

alright................... is there some trick to getting the bearings out of the diff outdrives? i've tried everything i can think of, and they're not budging. if i can't get them out, i guess i'll just clean and oil them while they're still in there.

just put some Super Clean in a old butter dish or tub with a lid and let them soak for a few days. it should whiten them up.

they've been submerged in penetrating fluid since friday. still no dice.
i'm just gonna oil the bearings while they're still in there. i'm tried of screwing with it.

little update....
i read on the 870c parts list that websteve posted awhile back that the associated replacements for the yoke shocks were the .56 and 1.02's. since i wanted more ease of adjustment for this car, i picked up a nice used pair of 1.02 threaded shocks of ebay, and since i couldn't find any used "coated" tc3 threaded shocks, i had to buy them new. i'll eventually swap out the blue spring collars for black on the fronts.
instead of using the tc3 shock shafts, i installed .56's. now, they're the same length as a standard .56 shock.

alright, she's finally a roller. i still have a lot to do to it yet, but atleast it's together.
i ended up going with the wide front suspension setup. mainly because i needed 2 new stock length universals and couldn't find any. my lhs has a stack of the wide kits. and because of the wide setup, the lunsford tierods i had set aside for it were not long enough. so, i'll be swapping them out when i get longer ones.

Damn, that cleaned up nice. I don't remember it looking that good when it was mine. You have an undertray right?
