Thanks badhoopty, I appreciate you taking the time to explain it. The inner ball stud mounting location is a great idea, gives me a few of my own, thanks again!

it's taking forever to upload...

here's the most important one. i made it a little bigger, just because i care.

http://pics.montypics.com/badhoopty/2008-07-08/1215571640_img_3409.jpg

its dark... but you can see the little cf brace that attaches the upper plate to the bulkhead. the other pics i'm trying to upload show a bit better detail up close. it looks like (and i may try this) a single wide piece of aluminum bent the same could replace the 2 cf pieces. or i may just put a 10t bulkhead brace between the 2 ball studs.

little update on the stink. might as well build it as i intended, even if i dont use it.

new towers, bleached all the plastic, stripped the outside of the shocks, swapped the rpm steering thing with a cleaner a&l.

honestly, do you guys think the stripped shocks look kinda.... gay?

not that there is anything wrong with that...

i might build the original set i had on this rig and save theses bling bodies for something else.

are you going with a rainbow paint scheme on it?

not that there's anything wrong with................. no..........wait. ya, there'd be something wrong with that.

i think the shocks look good on that. give the motor plate the same treatment.

no rainbow color scheme... but i was thinking a yellow and pink design with white and black paint splats. 8)

kinda like a fruity eddie van halen guitar...

the motor plate has been polished all along. i was also planning on using the alloy front bulkhead but i'm getting concerned with looking like i'm trying to hard to do something cool looking...

i really really wish i could get the a&l chassis brace and steering link in fiberglass to match the towers.

i could also run this...

the lipo i have wont fit the rpm without dremeling out the battery area. thats the only real thing keeping me from running an rpm chassis.

Got no Nimh? if not and it's a runner anyway dremel it, you might have to tranquilize it first

Use the black plastic shock collars spring cups to make it look better. imo

no more nimh's for me besides the trail rigs that would see water.

i would dremel the side notches in the rpm tray but not the front lip or the cover. its the length of the lipos i have thats the problem. they fit fine in most my chassis.
