Haha Jay! yeah, I've thought about a bunch of other parts, but I figure I'll give Chad a fairly simple part to start,than is in high demand/need just to see if it works out and he sells a bunch of them. which would make him more enthusiastic to build other vintage parts in the future. And as an update, I did send out some parts for him yesterday, I sent him a pair of stock rear 3/1.5 blocks, some stock rear arms, and a hinge pin.

something like that. maybe a bit more like the andys or rpm one piece.

i would like to see 1.5 degree and 0 degree arm mounts and definitely 2.25 tranny cases and an oval friendly rear bulkhead like the one you pictured on dirtoval.com. thoes are the 4 things that anybody can use wether you restore or race because they are so hard to find and are always needed and i'm sure he will sell lots of them. if he makes them in black and white he would please even more people too.

I'm acctually drawing up that bulkhead myself in solid works because it's a pretty simple part and I need the practice in solid works, as well as some early kranzel's type 0 degree rear mounts (very vintage oval style) so I'll keep you posted on those.

I wanted to say thanks for all the support the vintage crowd has givin me with our parts and accessories.

Also I noticed some talk about laser cutting vs. machined (milling machine) and material choice, these are some thoughts from me.

98% of our plastic parts are machined or laser cut out of 6/6 Nylon because of durability issues. Nylon 6/6 is very stong and will last longer than most other plastic materials. All of the older Associated parts were made of the same cream colored nylon from back in the day. Lucite 6/6????never heard of it??

Delrin, is a very stiff plastic, but very brittle material. I would never recommend a delrin suspension componet, gear box halves yes, some part that dosen't move or have and load on it would also be a canidate for Delrin use. Some racers like it beacuse it is very stiff and they feel that it will not flex like a nylon part would, in extreem situations. Manufactures like it for the fact that it is the easiest plastic to machine.

Laser cutting vs. machined (milling machine)

You would be hard pressed to notice a difference between a laser cut edge and a milling machine edge on any of the X, Y, or Z axis. No you cannot get something other than a 90 degree edge on a laser cut edge, but if you don't need it it is not worth the additional cost.

A laser cut part is half the cost of a machined part, less setup, less fixturing, less time for the machine shop less cost for the customer.

Some nice stuff there. I may have to order some of the DS rear arms.

to get the ball rolling, i would be interest in some suspension mounts. i wonder if he could do arms of the rc10? nothing fancy. one whole block of derlin with the correct hinge pin ID holes in them. i would love to work on some with my dremel.
