Sweet piece of history...

I may have some pictures in my magazine stash.

There were some more 'bosscatty' prototypes in the UK after this car, again in the old mags. They had a more developed front end that was less ProCat. That said, this is indeed a prototype in every sense of the Bosscat. Please do not restore it, it is perfect as it as

I wouldn't touch it either, restoring this car by adding new parts would totally ruin the piece of history it is as such. Don't peel that sticker and leave all that vintage dirt But in the end, it's yours and you will do what pleases you, this thing truely belongs to a museum

Don't do anything to it, please! You'll be really ruining the car to "restore" it.

I'm after the missing parts !
I'm really not sure to could find this, but I do my best !
For sure the label stay on the chassis, but I'm not enthousiaste to keep the car un-complete .

BTW......as far as I can remember......the 1991' IFMAR 4WD off-road winner is Cliff Lett with YZ10 ??......

I'm really lucky to found somwhere in Germany the old Schumacher Boss Cat prototype car from Detroit World 1991 .

He didn't say winner, just the Schumacher prototype from that event.

The car I got had been living on a shelf out in a garage for more than 10 years. Most of the metal parts had either rusted or corroded so badly I ended up binning them. I saved what I could and have cleaned up the parts to as new. There was no soil left on it though,just dust and rust. The chassis looks like it might have been run just the once. To be honest up until now i was thinking of selling this car. Mine has the black side plates also and I have all the bits ready to back together. Ive even got the alloy adapters which allow you to run the Yokomo rims on the Schuey stubs. I kept the undertray and Andy's 89' WORLD's body which has the same paint scheme as his Topcat which I also have. These were the 2 reasons I fought so hard to win that huge auction lot a while back. But now i have 3 Procat's and 3 Topcat's. Not sure which if any I should sell off as its all getting a bit too much for me now.

To my point of vue, I prefer collect one car of each than too many of the same.
I try to have evry schumacher after collect AE, Losi, Traxxas, Yokomo & Predator...

WOW! That prototype Bosscat looks like it was made from bits and bobs from the Schumacher parts bin I agree with some of the other members on there, leave it as it is.

Super find - I to have one of these team cars. The car I have was owned by Darrin Campbell - a long time Schumacher driver back in the day. I actually have the original alloy motor/gearbox "mount" prototype that was made by Darrins father. This original was used to make the team part and a factory option. These cats have some real history, my one actually has the diff adapted at the rear to run RC10 driveshafts!!

Hey Dazzler I'd like to see some pics of your car too. I think these are the rarest thing I've seen from Schumacher yet.
Anyway my fiance' has returned from her night out with her girlfriends and I now have my camera back. Sorry I dont have a scanner so I just took pictures of the paperwork instead.



...and as I previously mentioned the car I got was in terrible shape with all the metal parts either rusting over or corroded so badly that it was either now or never. So I proceeded to clean the car thinking I could end up selling it on to someone who would appreciate it more than I would. Anyway here is what I have assemble so far. The rest is sitting in my Procat box waiting to be added to the chassis.

...and here was the pick I have from when I bought that auction lot. Yep and I had to sell that bodyset off a couple of weeks ago- I still have the undertray though which I was intending to use along with Andy's 89' worlds fluro yellow and blue body set.

That right there is a historical marker in 4wd buggies in the world. It's no different than the original RC10 or the Masami World's cars. Any "restoration" or degradation of the visual history of that car would be a pure destruction to it as it sits.

Well there's a case for both really - I'd rather see a completed car personally. And I still race one of the 1991 World's Storm 2000 competitor's (1/10th Truck) that finished about 91st lol! I think photos do history better justice - still I've seen the winning CAT XLS at the Schumacher factory and i'd never dream of using that - it's done it's racing, but it's totally as it finished that last race.....

Where did the Bosscat finish that year?

Very interesting, I thought 'pro cat' until I noticed the belt and a few other details it's certainly a hybrid of the two concepts..

To each his own, but I think I would assemble it but leave the existing parts just as is, dust, dirt, and all.
