and even as thick as it is, it shouldnt add too much weight.

so, I let the no fume oven cleaner set for about 4 hours. pretty much all it did was make a few spots where it changed the color, thats about it.

I'm thinking more and more about just painting it. hell, i dont even know what color to do yet.

A friend an I split a cheap do it yourselfer powder coat kit, picked up an old stove at a yard sale. We have yet to get aluminum parts to come out perfect, I don't know what it is, but just can't get them to come out without having what looks like fisheyes in paint. Steel parts look great, no troubles at all. We clean/degrease them, bead blast them, preheat them in the oven, and still just can't get them right. Most of the stuff we have done black really turn out sweet, I don't know if it is thicker or what. I will have to take a pic of a couple tubs I have done. I did one in the silver vein, and a couple in black ones that didn't turn out too slick, but fine for runners. The silver vein turned out great, but doesn't look right with white or black plastic parts, so It has just been sitting in the attic until I can decide on something. They are pretty neat, but it is very time consuming.
