Anybody else ever build a "Mutt"?

didn't build it but bought it like this. These were the pix I took of it when I got it but are poor quality pix. Its a mutt of a trx1, trx3, associated parts, and some fabbed parts. Can anyone tell me what the kinda clear translucent parts came from? Think they were fabbed but if they were they are one helluva good job...makes me scared to drive it hard...

sorry I didn't see you were the same guy who posted the chain drive.

For the traxxociated: can you explain which parts are what?

Sorry 'bout that...thought I put the pix up of the other side where you could've seen that this has an associated stealth tranny drivetrain on it. I was told it had b4 wheels also which makes sense bearingwise but they don't look like the dish on my b4 wheels I sold awhile back. The topplate of the chassis seems to be fabbed and on the traxxas forum some of the members seemed to think the translucent white parts(frt.bulkhead,batterybox parts) were fabbed and some thought they were an aftermarket company but if they were fabbed they did an extremely good job. Wish my camera did a better upclose job so I could get some better pix. This thing is a screamer and turns on a dime but have yet to drive it at the track to find out for sure how it would handle. Fraideycat about those translucent parts...

I don't think those translucent parts are home-made: they look like nylon and the only way to get such materials this shiny would be injection molding in a high quality mould.

OUCH . yep, been building my own front 'pin ties' since I bought my first nitro hawk but I still break mounts and arms(laughing at myself now)just not as much. They were allready out of production by the time I bought my first nitrohawk and the first thing I did was break something I couldn't order from the LHS anymore .
I really like the grey wheels. They grey outside too?

yep, grey on the outside also, with a little metalic effect, but not evenly spread. Guess i can't complain for the price they come at. They are tamiya items; standard on the desert viper.
I use these sometimes on my mutants because they reduce the width of the car by 6mm compared to the standard ZX5 wheels I like to use. Somehow I allways end up with a bit too much width and those 6mm are just the ticket to get the car fit in race regulations: 250mm wide without having to switch hubs or drive axles.

The offset of the rear wheels is no different than the ones of the lazer, but they are each 6mm narrower. This makes the tire balloon a bit more too: excellent for rough tracks

Edit: excuse the uggly straps: just a test. Normally I just stick to tape.

They do look good. I'll have to see if I can find some grey rit dye .
