When I look at BattleTrak's JRX2, it makes me wonder how many he's trying to build from that pile of parts 😂

Scottzone also has potential for junkiest build for an otherwise decent truck because of the poorly made gearbox. At least my TRX1 has *some* hope of getting a good gearbox setup. Are there some SST gearboxes that work smoothly? How would someone know other than trial and error?
Gonna be boxing up all rc stuff in a couple months due to moving soon, all the way across the street. Bought the neighbor's house straight across from my living room window. Been waiting 2-3 yrs for them to finally let it go, love it. So I won't be surprised if I don't touch anything rc til mid-late fall :(

For some strange reason the SST gearbox in my Pro-XRT is very smooth. I did follow stickboy007's SST pointers, so that likely had something to do with it.

I still have some things left to try. To summarize his pointers:

1. Leave the case screws loose.
2. Leave one of the two bearings out of the middle of the output gears.
3. Add a small washer to the thrust bolt so it does not hit the far side of the case when tightened down.
4. Upsize the driveshaft bearings and run a tighter mesh.

Am I missing anything?
