I'm ready for a better run video, but I think I need to fire my videographer. She's terrible at it, and not very receptive of fine artistic criticism. Like zoom in and follow the buggy with the camera.

My replacement camera crew was a little better, but I didn't get much run time recorded. I think my CAM motor is drawing way too much current. My Novak 1 stopped running, which is always a risk with old electronics and the replacement Spektrum is losing throttle after a short period of operation. I also found out that the 10T rear tires I put on aren't glued. A tire jumping the rim can really launch this little sucker into the air!

Well, for the perfect gold pan paint, I mixed two parts summer yellow, two parts beachwood brown, and just a hint of Tang orange.

Truck tires, a six gear, and a mod is a tall order.

I used to have a basher 10T with a six gear. I used a 90T spur, fairly small pinion, and a 24T mod with very little timing.

The Novak 1 died before I got to the truck tires. It quit when I was running with the Pro Line waffles.

I was thinking about the Spektrum. Being made by Hobbywing, that sounds similar to a problem that 1060's are known for.

They are known for going into limp mode. It seems to be more common on high load applications or ones with limited battery output. People commonly add capacitor banks to the battery side to stabilize voltage.

Limp mode sounds like the right description. It would also reduce power/speed periodically.

If this was going to get used as a runner, I think the first thing I'd do is upgrade the steering bellcranks. The z bend setup just isn't very precise, especially when the holes start to get a little wear. I'd also put in a good steering servo. The S148 is in there just because it's big, and this is a little buggy. I thought about putting an even bigger S128 in there, but that would be just silly. . I would also make a batter cup setup a 2000mah 2s lipo battery, like Frankenshorty #1 runs with. The tiny wires on the little 1000mah lipo aren't made for big motor current draw. Or, I have some stubby loose NiCd cells that could make an interesting 6 cell pack. Hmmm.

I pulled the motor and checked it out a little more. It wasn't the CAM motor I had intended to run with. I have a nice running 19 turn that I've used off-road before. I don't know the specs on this motor, but it runs more like a 12 turn drag motor. Oops.
