known of this stuff for a long time just always had green slime until now. noleen sf3 suspension grease sure as heck looks to be the same... i wish i had a fresh tube of green slime to compare.

certainly a LOT cheaper than the a.e. stuff. ;)

goin with rpm red medium/heavy lower pistons with the white light uppers since it matches the a.e. shock seal parts and the white uppers let the c-clip and upper part of shaft visibly pop a little better.

debating some 100wt oil since its a shelfer, otherwise shocks are built. the hg bodies and caps are fighting me every step. had to sand the pistons quite a bit, and them damn shock cap threads want to crossthread even when youre bein uber duper careful.

100wt in the shocks was dumb...

filled em all up and cycled the pistons a few times to bounce the air up and with the oil being so thick they aerated the oil/air and clouded up immediately. it was obvious theyd take ages to return to clear again, so theyre currently draining in the sink and i'll redo em with 30wt when they drip dry enough.

id have my dye if walmart wasnt a complete crap show at the moment with christmas in a few days.

100wt is not a good choice, the HG caps aren't very strong so if you dropped the car from a height it could blow the caps off. I'd stick to 30 wt.

Also the AE shocks are an emulsion style shock where there HAS to be some air in the shock to compensate for the shock shaft, unfortunately there is no way to combat this unless you came up with a bladder set up.

yeah i know the emulsion thing and am definitely not gonna overfill these.

my only thought at the time for tryin the 100wt was to not be as potentially leaky long term, (and i alao have a boatload of 100wt)... i didnt think of how finely theyd emulsify and then how long, if ever, theyd take to clear up again. they were also stiffer than i expected, i dunno what i was thinking if im being honest. lofl.

Some green Losi 25W would look cool in there.

Just saying.

i just put some el cheapo axial 30wt in em.

i dont remember my last set of vlt shocks being soooooo goddamn tricky to get the damn caps on or requiring basically each piston to be custom matched to each shock bore... these actively try to crossthread nomatter how careful you are and i just dont like em from a quality point of view at all.

I’d sub those HG bodies and caps for some real shocks. If you want to be different use Mip Losi shock bodies since you have a Hydra and you’ll probably use a Pro SE body.

got the 30wt in em. they look neat...

im gonna use the vlts since ive had em set aside forever for this particular build.l, but wouldnt be against considering some losi shocks if i had a set.

The clear shocks look awesome! This feels like a great build to use them with. A clear Cirrus servo would go really well with it too

i got the dye comin' for the bombpop look but i still dont know if i'll do it...

biggest concern (other than simply fuckin it up) is the colors not being bright enough. hard to research exactly what rit colors are the brighter colors. scarlet red, racing red, cherry red... i know a lot of that is dependent on how long it sits in the dye but the basic hue is also a factor... i got some scrappy rpm bits i'll do a test on to make sure the colors are right.

I've been very unhappy with even the commercial neon colors they offer. The best would be to find some old litespeed dylon but it doesn't come around often and is usually expensive. Nothing pops like it did.

Your not kidding. The dulon was the crap. Let me look at my stuff, I have some but unsure of the colors. Work RIT I always had to mix x of this with x of that to get I wanted color wise
