I have some new Jaco foams in the mail.

Nice restore the RC10L is a very cool pan car. I started with one & still have it. I wish associated would re issue this car.

Thanks for the likes! I love these cars, what’s such a bummer though is they are basically impossible to run unless you have a dedicated track or a very smooth clean parking lot near by. Of course I’ve got neither. I suppose another part of my issue is the one I rebuilt to actually play with is set up with a mod motor lol so with a 2 cell it basically does 30 at minimum throttle input not helping my cause for front of the house runs! I guess I need to stick a sealed can on that one too!

Mine still has a pole position motor and novak esc,can't exactly remember which?? It uses 3 wire instead of four it was a new novak type. Yea with the foams easy spin out lol. 6 cells or 7 hump,man easily over 45 mph maybe even 50?? I geared it to be safe When I ran it in a mall parking lot at night when the lot was empty.. WOW super fast,feather the throttle until it gets up to speed and then pull the trigger

Yep, they were the fastest thing I’d encountered back in the day! Even with the sealed can 540 motors they would run near 30 if you geared them right around 4:1. My biggest tie to them is just on road being my first form of organized racing.

Got some new shoes today. Still deciding on electronics, I have a Futaba 3401 in the mail for this one, and since it was for display only I was going to use one of my nice but inop escs, but decided I want it to be a 100% working model, so I’m debating on weather I want to use tge tekin this came with or a t4 I have, both have their original connectors on them still, but I ran deans 4 pins so I’m reluctant to cut the connectors off these to do it. Lol not like I would t have hesitated to do it back then Oh well.

On my original car I put new body mounts, added the black g10 bumper, transferred all the other cf parts to it, updated the servo from an Amazon special to a Savox and the esc from the old Novak 4 to an LRP with no motor limit. Nothing like I would have ever raced, but if I can find a smooth lot it should run pretty good!

Cool post! I love seeing old dogs come back to life. I had one of those old Novak 4's in my Turbo Optima bitd and it caught fire on a practice lap at a local indoor track when running it with an 8.4V battery pack and the LeMans 240S (without the recommended ESC heatsinks). I learned pretty quick to pay attention to the instructions after that.

I think that purple and maroon body that came with your car may be an old Andy's Jaguar. One of my favorite bodies. I have one painted up with a Bud Light theme but haven't posted it RC10talk yet. I found a old Dahms WSC spice long tail TOJ body at a local track I will likely use with one of my 10L restorations. I certainly do love those old TOJ's!

These are land missiles once you get it to hook and have plenty of smooth road in front of you!

Nothing beats high downforce and big power when your car is hooked up !!

I let my son pick the colors, but I do love that blue! I finally picked up a couple sharpies the other day, and outlined the trim. And like little Trey said, “it looks way better now” lol

Yeah, my mistake with the 4 was assuming it was the same as a T4, which unfortunately I found out it’s not. The 4s would have been mainstream before I had my first new esc (T4) so I had no clue about the heat sinks being that critical. And with the pan cars and the sealed can motor class I spent most my time in, you could darn near run two 4 minute heats on 1 1200 mah battery, so we weren’t drawing many amps. With my pristine old 4 It didn’t help any that I was attempting that run with a hot mod motor lol. Oh well, it’s going to live out its days in my Halsey car on a shelf.

I kinda thought that was a Jag, just wasn’t sure. The TOJ bodies were almost all the hobby shop would ever have in stock back then. Everyone used them, and like you said, they worked well. What does the long tail look like?

The parking lot at my shop is probably smooth enough to make a few passes, but working for a major Airline on airport grounds, I’m pretty sure that’s a no no, or back in the day it was.

It comes with a separate driver and extra wing. It is a really cool body I wish they still have. They made two versions one for 1/8 gas and 1/10 electric. I cannot find the physical difference between the two. If there is any, it must be pretty subtle. The 235mm 10L fits it nicely. Now I have to brush up on my painting skills so I'll experiment on a body that isn't as rare.
