Appreciate the help, I can build rc cars better than I can do tech stuff. The question I have about the RACER is, is this a early RACER EX?

With the help of R6cowboy I was able to revive it.
I have a lot of Novak ESCs and a few Novak chargers.
My Duster II is one of my favorite ones.

I don't know if the "improved" means it was updated to EX levels. But I'm 99% sure the Racer EX had a different label than a standard Racer.

The mini catalog has the insert for the EX but still has the pic for the original RACER

I saw that EX in the timeline. I’ve seen the operation manual for the EX as well. I’ve only seen two other RACERS with the improved sticker on them I just can’t find anyone who knows what was changed. I like brushless stuff but I like the old orange and some of Tekin stuff more.

Yes. Novak regularly used previous model cases/labels with additional stickers on them during running changes until their supply was exhausted. The only difference between the Racer and the Racer EX was the latter came with Hyperfets in place of Megafets.

Awesome that R6cowboy was able to help you get it working again. 👍

It’s funny ya brought up the cases because the
RACER, HAMMER PRO, RACER EX, and DUALLY all used the same case and heatsinks 👍 I know some of the history but still learning. RC10talk has helped a lot.

They were all basically an evolution of the same controller.

The 410-M1 was a 410-M1c without current limiting. The 410-HPC was a 410-M1c with Hyperfets. The Hammer Pro was a 410-HPC with Hyperfets II and current limiting II. The Racer was a Hammer Pro without Hyperfets II. The Racer EX was a Racer with Hyperfets II. And the Dually was a Racer EX with Hyperfets III and Current Limiting III and two selectable throttle profiles.

I too can confirm that the Racer with the "improved" sticker is just the first run of upgraded Racer EX esc's. Novak eventually made a proper "Racer EX" sticker shortly after. I got one with the improved sticker back when the original hpi rs4 came out. Yeah, that was a great setup!
Old school racing all the way!

To everybody Thanks for the info.
RC on. I got hooked with aluminum tub RC10
series. I like the older stuff it always seemed
more user friendly.
