Yep good eye. The rear tower is damaged. Aluminum tube tip noted.

What about the RPM steering setup. Is it period correct? Something I should bring back to stock?
You may be able to simply bend the tube. Those wing tubes are quite soft and can be bent by hand.
if that doesn't work J concepts make a nice version of that.

It's not cheap but a stock shock tower is available on amazon.com amazon.com

JConcepts makes an aftermarket shock tower

The steering setup you have is good, but it requires a good condition screw as the base. I have had screws wear out. It took me a while to learn that screws can wear out and need to be replaced.

Be careful with the JConcepts wing tubes. They are not drilled through. They are threaded at each end.

I bought a couple sets because they are nice but I usually just make my own. If I want something nicer, I'll polish them.

I've never been able to straighten bent tubes. Mine would always end up with an offset bend in them. That C&S aluminum tubing is really cheap on Amazon and is an excellent match for OEM.

This is all great info for a new guy. I’m eating it up!

How about:
- shock collars
- replacement front and rear battery mounts

There are aluminum shock collar rings made. I don't know of any sources of nylon shock collars. I've 3D printed them for myself and a few others people. If you need some that's easy enough. I also have printed the battery cup and rear bulkhead if you have a need. eBay is the typical source, also the Wanted section here.

Frankentruck above does some nice 3D printed collars. Ed is also a great guy to work with.

The rear battery mount is the bulkhead. Used and 3D printed ones are available on Ebay.

For the front, I'd recommend keeping the Pure-Tech straps. The adjustable length helps when dealing with modern stick pack batteries. Anytime that I find some for a reasonable price, I snatch them up.

as far as purtech straps go I picked up the medium ones and they are much longer than I wanted. Look at the small size, or the vintage ones made for the rc10.

I was referring to the RC10 specific ones, with the "L" shaped brackets.

That’s how much I know at the moment. I thought the battery strap was a goner. But looks like it’s something I can reuse and is correct for the car.

I’ll inquire about those shock collars. I like the original look.

I found some of the extra parts that came with the car. The round indentations behind the Tekin is a dead giveaway.

Best things I see are the ESC and cover. Motors look beat.
