This isn't the nose plate that's going to stay with this build but it's good enough for some mockup work.

The further this goes, the fewer actual RC10T2 parts that end up getting used.
A nose brace plate is being added instead of nose tubes which leads to needing a custom front suspension mount. First mock-up trial looks like just a few tweaks will be needed.

Nose plate arrived and got trimmed a bit to remove the LWB mount holes. Just a few minor battery side brakets left and then picking wheels, tires, and a body. Rear shocks got the limiters removed and repositioned.

When doing a buggy with a truck nose, I completely remove the area foreword of the bulkhead and use some type of bumper.
Here is one with a RPM mini bumper (I have another with a full bumper).

I thought about removing the front flange but I kind of like the stubby truck bumper. It seemed ok to me for an off-road buggy. Kinda Baja 1000 buggy-ish.

The wheels and tires weren't a hard decision. I have a set of B2 front and rear wheels, and also a set of Race Prep 925 rear / 926 front tires looking for a home. This seems like the right spot.

This is probably a good time to stick in a motor too. My Reedy with the MCI restoration label will work well here.

We all know the JrX2 was the pinnacle of RC design and this makes it official to improve on the RC10 with X2 genes.

I wasn't satisfied with the front inner and outer hinge pins being too long for the front suspension arms so I went with captive hinge pins, which are what the arms are intended to have. That cleaned up the front nicely. I also stole the NOS front bumper from my 10T.

Dang it! I was hoping you would change gears and put a Top Cat front end on it.

I always wanted to hash a JrX2 back end with a Top Cat front. I find it interesting that both are primarily known (and loved) for a suspension design that was soon binned and replaced with conventional bits.
RC was more fun before the inevitable convergence of design.
It isn't planned for this specific buggy (yet

) but I started tinkering with ideas for a TC style front suspension.

Messing around a little more. The steering area is going to be tricky.

Fantastic!!
I like where you're going with this but I reckon the patent attorneys from big "T" are preparing their case.
Too bad for them. It's your car, build it your way!
