Wasn't there one in the late90's called the fireblade or something? I seem to remember one.

Jason, I'm pretty sure your description of the Procat SE is incorrect - it definitely didn't have dark green varishocks & I'm fairly confident it didn't have a C/F chassis or 23mm diffs either. Coincidently I was having a conversation with terry.sc a few months ago about this model and he backed this up. I hope Terry doesn't mind me quoting him, but he's pretty much a bible on vintage RC :D

"The Procat SE was as you say an end of line special to clear old stock. Nothing special, the only differences between a Procat and the SE were Bosscats varishocks and the Bosscats Aerodisc wheels, so the SE could run 2.2" tyres. That's it. here's a picture of one"

Good work Ian. I only ever saw a black and white add for the Procat SE and a breif description of its attributes years ago. I've never actually seen one but I was trying to remember what the car had. Thankyou for you clearing this up for me.

The Cougar 95 was followed by the Fireblade, the Fireblade Evo and the Fireblade USA, all a development of the Cougar 2000 range.

I'm sure I've posted that somewhere recently :?

   The result of spending too much time in my youth with r/c cars.

Below is my Schumacher timeline. This only lists electric buggies, not nitro cars or the Wildcat series. Prices are actual retail prices around the time the kit was launched (not RRP - the CAT 2000EC RRP was £335!!)
I'm pretty confident the years are correct for the UK as I used manuals, catalogues & modelshop adverts and not magazine reviews which are notoriously late. However the release order within a given year might not be accurate. Some cars such as the Bosscat and the CAT 2000 were sold alongside each other for a while, and others such as the Club10 & Cougar 2000 were upgraded over time, but kept the same kit part number. Hope this helps any Schumacher fans out there. If I've got anything wrong, or anyone has more info about which cars won what races please get in touch & I'll edit it - enjoy!

I was surprised to find references to a Storm "Works" when researching this - I've never even heard of one, let alone seen one. Any one got any piccies?

Would be really good to compile a list of all Schumacher's Euro / National / world championship results against each of these cars - I've started as you can see.

Ian,

Kevin Moore came 2nd and William Mitcham 3rd in the 1993 Worlds using Cat 2000's (2 months before the retail kit was available) a bit like Masami in 87 with a Modifed XL later released as a XLS.
Ben Sturnham come 3rd in 93 Euros with a Bosscat. Kevin Moore Won in 2wd with a Cougar 2000
