Finally got around to gathering a couple of these, and so far, so worth it and not sure why I waited so long! I found a M12 charger at a yard sale for close to nothing, so then went and got a M12 drill (tool only) and a couple of Chinese batt packs for a good price. Then a small driver kit, which is on the verge of not having enough torque, but hasn't failed yet, and my wrists love it!! And a metric bit set, and I have no idea what took me so long to order a metric bit set. All-n-all, great additions to the workbench.

Get one of these to go with the cordless driver.

The slow speed is great for drilling and tapping plastic.

I have one of the M12 drills as well, but hardly ever use it for anything RC related. I'll use the above adapter and a Skill cordless screwdriver.

As I dug into my near empty box of 100 toothbrushes this evening, I was reminded of this thread. I use the heck out of these for cleaning, and although I wish they were a little stiffer, for about 25 cent a piece, they do their job! It is nice to not have to deal with a limited number, or care at what point they are "too" dirty. They get a little dirty, they go in trash. Next!

One of my favorite tools, especially in these cold winter months, is a heat gun. It is great for doing a new build where you can warm up the plastic parts and hardware to have them go together easily and hopefully avoid stress cracks in the future..

Another cool use is…if you have any colored plastics with white stretch marks…you can warm it up and the discoloration disappears.

I hate not having the right size drill bit, so my family took pity on me this past Christmas and got me a set of letter and number coded drill bits. It is amazing how much less frustrating it it when you have the perfect drill bit size. These do not replace the regular fractional sizes, just fill in more options between them.

As I feel like I have used this thing twenty times today, I wanted to add this to this thread. This is a golf club shaft clamp for vises that I bought years ago for, well, club shafts. But, it works very well in the RC build world. The main opening is great for tubing and such, and there is a secondary smaller opening that is great for link rods and the like. Keeps a great grip on things without scratches. There are multiple varieties of these, and I think they are $5-10 on Amazon. Great tool when you need it.

The tips are tiny and they seem to hold well. They also reminded me about the lifetime warranty.

This would be so much more handy than the big heat gun for shrink tubing.

Since heat guns were brought up, this is what I use and really like it for work top shrinking. It has a stand so it can be sat pointing straight up, making it hands free.

Ever notice that your screwdriver doesn't seem to fit the screws on Tamiya, Kyosho, Traxxas, etc cars very well? They aren't necessarily cheap screws, just made to a different spec. I've been using the Tamiya tool set for years but wanted something better.
