I drilled the shaft end tonight and now problem is solved. Thanks RC10th.
Now, I'm waiting for my new aluminium bulkhead to continue the rebuild.

It took a long time for the bulkhead to travel from USA to France, but finally, it's here and rebuilding is on its way.
My car is a little heretic, given that I put a Corally 12*1 motor bought from a guy in my club. I hope it will not shock Asso fanatics. It will run with 4 cells NiMh batteries.

Do you know if it's possible to put steering turnbuckles+ball cup (like a RC12LS) on a RC12LW?

Yes you can, the only difference between ls and lw is the extra body post hole in front of car.

Dude that thing is like a time capsule. Glad you found it after nearly 30 years. Id say run it, but with mjdern electronics. Just for the ease of use and longer run times.

Almost 30 years later, my RC12LW is ready to hit the track. 8)

Motor: Corally 12*1
ESC: Novak Duster Sport
Receiver: Futaba R304-SBE
Servo: Savox 1251MG
Battery: Ruddog NiMh
Body: Trinity TRI39700

I will certainly need new tires quickly, I don't what to choose for the time being (modern 1/12 wheels are so different from mine).

I like how you used modern style bullet connectors on your saddle packs. The end result is much cleaner.

What I mostly remember was people either soldering them in or using the modular Anderson (Litespeed) style connectors.

Unless you are referring to a different type, I don't even remember anything like the modern heavy duty bullets being available then. You used Dean's, Litespeed, or soldered directly.

I remember the pan car guys with the really expensive matched cells having a gold plated barrel soldered to the battery terminals and then bullet ends on their wires. The cells packed away nice and neat in their cases with the wires removed.

I came across this Corally SP12m (because this thread is creating the itch to get an RC12) and noticed the ESC power leads had the bullet connectors that I remember seeing. No idea who used to make those connectors.

It's banana plug. Very easy to find in electronic stores.

Not easy to find anymore. Electronics stores with components seem to have gone extinct.
