Believe me, it wasn't planned.

I got it stripped and cleaned, started looking through what I had and what I could get, and then one thing leads to another.

Just a little update on this one. With the exception of a body and paint, it's pretty well done.

I swapped the rear shocks for some B4's that I found at the LHS.

Got some foam rubber in the battery cup and put longer studs at the thumbscrews.

Finished up the rear with some chrome dogbones from Factory Works.

And got all the electronics installed.

Just need to make a decision on a body, as nothing really fits this chassis very well.

This is a very cool build. One thing I didn't see mentioned, who makes that servo saver? That looks perfect for a single ball connection.

Team Associated 7138. I have them on several cars.

The lower hole isn't drilled but the location is clear in the mold.

I used to use the Axial 31463 a lot but they've gotten harder to find.

Nice clean build you have there.

I am trying to finish my graphite mid motor conversion build, and I think the Losi JRX Pro SE fits the graphite contour nicely.

penguinbodyshells is a body re-producer / seller from england. They make nice bodies.

Here's the link

I think Team Blue Groove also makes one.

I hope this helps.

Yeah you have to kind of notch the body around the chassis, or trim the chassis. Andy's bodies he is selling now do fit because the Andy's chassis is similar in that area.

I know that the Andy's Renegade body is supposed to fit.

I've heard that dealing with Andy can be frustrating though. And to be honest, I don't think that the Renegade body looks that good.

I'm thinking about doing a Jammin Jumper, and just trimming it at the chassis. And since I don't have to work around chassis sides or nose tubes, I could mount the body kinda low.

Got the body rough cut. I still need to trim around the bellcranks some more and trim down the sides, but its pinned down anyway. The chassis was a little trouble trimming around the shock tower was the most trouble, the front of this body is a little wider than most.

Got the body all trimmed and clearanced. Also got the wing mounted.

The body is a Jammin Jumper from Sabula Tech with a JConcepts Finnisher wing, and old style Traxxas wing buttons.

Now I've just got to decide on a paint scheme and colors. I'm thinking a Spaz Stix color change paint, backed in metallic blue, and trimmed in gunmetal.

For me, that's the hardest part when doing a custom build. If I can't go box-art or find a photo of something online to emulate, I'm stumped.

I kept it simple.

The stripes and wing accents are gunmetal. For the main color I did a couple light coats of Spaz Stix color change and backed it in Tamiya blue and then silver. The car is definitely still blue but the Spaz Stix gives it a green and purple pearl look as it moves through the light.

I tried to get a couple pics showing the color shift but it's still kinda hard to see.

I sitting here right now, spinning my chair and waiting the color change.

Seeing it now, I think silver stripes would have looked a little better.

I snapped this picture in the sun. Given the blue backing, the purple is definitely more prominent than the green.
